I can remember a time when Live was new and everyone used a headset and hardly anyone didn't use one. PSN was the same way, when it was new there were more people using a headset then not. Now fast forward to today and hardly anyone uses a headset and its rare when some one uses one. I use to be able to join a game and make new friends and those friends turned into more friends which turned into even more friends. It's been so long sense the last time that I made a non 202p friend that I can not remember when it was or who was the last person.
Maybe I'm old fashion but I like hearing a Voice on the other end of the pixels. I can't stand playing when no one is talking, its worse then watching paint dry. All of the best experiences I ever had on the PS3 or the 360 was when I was either with friends or clan mates. (clan mates are friends too) The worst part about making friends online is there is no real attachment, people come and go. As soon as I start playing with some one I really like they move one for one reason or another. Such is life!
I guess in the end I need to get with the times, although I dont like the way gaming is headed. It gives no real feeling of being a part of something. I mean sure you get into a room and the screen says your playing with other players. But whats different from a game where no one is talking or a bot match? There is none! For what ever the reason people have decided to give up the mic. I am to the point where is sink or swim, I just spent $350 on a PS3 and $400 on a 360 plus I bought lots of games these last 2 months. Its a expensive hobby to not really be getting any real enjoyment out of it.
I am going to give it one last go, I am going to attempt to fill my firends list with people who want to play and people who play late nights. Which is going to mean joining another clan, with 3 clans surly I can find sone one to game with 24/7. Or so i hope, and if it fails I am going to need a new hobby!
