The same old thing we did last week

So I make a call to the lady at this one particular agency, and I get the familiar ums and ahs and general lack of clue that I've come to expect from her.  I'm getting a little frustrated with her to be honest.  Of the 2 positions she told me about both seem to have mysteriously dried up.  The first she hasn't heard anything back at all (could you maybe contact them to find out whats up?), and then there's the one she told me about last Wednesday.  She never called me back after that, I had to call her yesterday.  The conversation went something like this:

Me: "You mentioned there was a position in Bolingbrook when we last spoke, did anything develop from that?"

Her: "Um, well...ah...let me see...oh that position was filled this morning."

Me: "Really?  We talked about it last Wednesday though, what happened?"

Her: "Yeah, um....ah, we sent someone out for an interview this morning and they kept him there to start working.  That normally doesn't happen."

Me: "We talked about this position Wednesday morning and I didn't hear anything back from you, why didn't I get sent to interview?"

Her: "Ah, um...oh regarding that other position, I haven't heard anything back so I don't think thats going to happen..."

Me: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHH"  (not really, that was just something I felt like typing at this point)

So I'm actually getting frustrated for the first time here.  I've dealt a lot with temp agencies on the hiring side and know firsthand that the whole irony of temp agencies is that perfectly good people are out of work while these cretins have jobs.  But there's finally a chink in the armor, in the bravado of believing that I'll get a job sooner rather than later.  And it sucks.

I mean what is it?  I have good experience, my resume was done professionally (I think it looks good anyway), and I test and interview well.  Is it my age?  Or am I just getting worked up over nothing and need to continue to be patient in a shit economy?

While I ponder these issues and more enjoy a Red Forman compilation video.  How many ways can you threaten to put a foot in someone's ass?  Only Red knows for sure...

Years ago when I got laid off an old job, I applied to five different temp places. I don't know how many are in your area, but I'd open as many door as I could. I got a job in 3 days. It only lasted two weeks because I found a much better job on my own. I still work for that company.

Thats encouraging at least. I do have my resume in with many agencies and always looking to add more, as well as applying for jobs on indeed.com The original intent was to get back to work asap and I'm still trying of course, its just getting a little frustrating because I expected to be back in the saddly by now.

Saddly just sounds better even though I have no idea what that would mean.
