Goooooooooooooood morning!

I went bargain bin picking yesterday and picked up some old used games at Gamestop. I got Halo 3 to help round out the collection. As much as I like them, I don't buy Halo games new anymore. I don't play Halo multiplayer since I am abnormally bad (some of you may remember this) and its just not worth shelling out the $60 for single player only. I did buy H3 when it launched several years back but eventually traded it in. Thanks to the guilty pleasures thread on the boards I picked up a used copy of Bullet Witch. With the discount that ran a robust $4.50, so even if I hate it thats still less than a rental. Then for whatever reason I picked up Fight Night Round 3. Thats another one I used to own but kinda wanted a boxing game and I don't like Round 4 or Champions, so I guess this was it. Can't believe this game got a 10 from OXM, it really has NOT aged well. Its playable but only barely. To finish off my "what the hell was I thinking" list I picked up the 2-pack of Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Again 2 games I used to own, and I can see getting the latter since its still fun (to me) but no clue why I bought F2 since I have F3 and its superior in every way. I guess I can't pass up a 2-pack, it feels like I'm getting a free game. I think I'll give that one to my nephew.

I also called one of my agency contacts to talk with him about whats been going on with the agency he referred me to. He's an account manager I got to know from back when we used to be able to hire our own temps instead of having failure imposed on us by corporate in the form of incompetent agencies. Long story. Anyway this guy was always on the scene back then, got us whatever we needed and really impressed as someone who knew his shit. I had actually given him my resume a few months before I was severed to start the ball rolling because I could see the writing on the wall, and he had given my resume to this other place since they were a new sister company that handled more specialized labor while his end of the business handled mainly general labor.

He wasn't pleased to hear what I had to tell him and couldn't understand why I hadn't been sent to interview for any of the positions I missed on. He told me that he had heard similar complaints about this woman and while she seemed nice enough he didn't think she was particularly up to the task of her position. This guy knows me fairly well and knows what I did from a performance standpoint, so he figured it wouldn't be very hard to place me. Plus like we discussed this is a win for both sides. If they get me in somewhere I win because I get a job, and they win because I'm representing them and making them look good. So he told me there was a new woman at this company who had been put in place specifically to help this other woman because of the complaints and he'd make sure that I got a call from her and that she'd look after my business. So thats good I guess.

Alrighty, random tv clip Tuesday. How about some Seinfeld? Its funny because when this show was airing new episodes I never watched it. Didn't find it funny at all, didn't get it. Then a few years after it ended its run I was laid up with a couple shoulder surgeries and out of boredom started watching it. I was hooked and eventually wound up owning all 9 seasons on dvd. Better late than never!
