Here it is: If you play Army of Two the 40th Day you'll generate a save file when you exit. Most likely before you started playing the campaign, if you were signed in to XBL, you had to update the game. This is all pretty normal. But be careful. For some unknown reason, the newest console update will sometimes ask you to update games you just recently updated. This seems to happen after you've signed off, shut down your console and then restart your console and log back into XBL. The console seems to think that certain games need updating. Well Army of Two 40th Day seems to be one of those games. Now with other games that seem to require the update, I've updated them eventhough it's unnecessary. The result, nothing. No problem. But with Army of Two 40th Day, if you've played the game and have generated a save file, the update will reset all of your characters settings to the default beginning settings. In other words, all the weapons you've purchased, all the attachments, all the camo, all of the money you've earned, all your stats, all of it GONE. It doesn't matter where in the story you are, when you load your save all your stuff will be reset as if you had just started the game. Any collectables you had found up to that point will not appear as found. Any achievements requiring a certain number of kills or actions will be reset and you'll be starting from zero. In fact, if you do continue with the campaign and finish it. You won't get the achievement for completing the game in a certain difficulty, as well as others.
I currently have no tested solution to this problem. I believe that because the game keeps asking for the update, you could save your save file from the game on a MU or USB stick and then after the update exit the game and copy your old save file back onto your HDD. But if you're just interested in playing the game and getting most of all the achievements, just don't play the game online. Stay off XBL and the game won't be updated. This solution kinda sucks, 'cause the co-op is a lot of fun, and unless you've got some one home to do split-screen with, you're only having half the fun. It's especially useful to play with someone in co-op on the hardest difficulty, Contractor. The Ai is too stupid to help you on Contractor.
Any other games affected by this bug out there? Comment below if you've got some info.
