My first instinct was to not buy this game. But it seemed to get bad press so I thought hey this might be OK. I should have known something was up due to the lack of videos and screenshots being offered for public consumption prior to release.
The Story goes loosely along these lines. The Mexican drug dealers are attacking on American soil. This spawns a three person task force to investigate. The three cops are, Ben McCall he’s the tough nosed street vet who’s seen it all. Kim Evans Grew up in a ghetto she is now a hardcore cop. Eddie Guerra is a smooth talking slicky boy with a gambling problem. They each have dirty secrets that they are hiding.
Problem one with this game, depending on which character you pick the story plays out differently. I usually like this but the three different stories are very similar. The story itself is somewhat in depth and believable. The cinematics are bountiful and most are good quality. One boring note they use several lame one liners over and over again reminded me of Duke Nukem a little bit.
Having said that, let’s take a look the graphics of this game. First all of the woman look like they have zombie eyes, freaky. The graphics are average and I only got "trapped" twice so that was kewl I guess. I would say the graphics are good but not great. The physics of the environment leave a little to be desired. The guns all seem to handle the same. Driving is tricky at first but becomes almost totally simplistic as you get the hang of it. When it comes to gunfire the game is somewhat disappointing. The weapons look like fair copies of the guns they represent. When it comes to contact/shooting things get a little goofy. Example you can basically spray bullets at a group of enemy's and they will go down, you can run towards enemy from a distance and knife them easily.
I'm not going into any story details as I don't want to ruin your first time experience. But I will reiterate it is a somewhat interesting story with tons of cuts and cinimatics
I will cover the co-op and MP features next time.
I would have to say that yes there are some exciting parts to the game but overall it was a little repetitive. I don’t think it’s a buy but maybe better suited to a rental from Redbox or Gamefly
