October gaming and giving.

October. Halloween everybody. I was never one for dressing up, but I have always liked Halloween. Everyone just seems casual or more open and excited. Also, more horror movies show on regular cable. Time to rip out Left 4 Dead, COD Zombies, Undead Nightmare, Dead Space, FEAR, and Silent Hill. Been a while since I played a few of them, but this is the time to get in that mood. Yeah, can’t forget about the candy. I make sure one bag of candy is reserved for my son and me, rather than hand out to the trick-or-treaters. Now, to think what kind it will be this year.
In the teen anime club I run, we will be starting an anime called Higurashi Koro Ni. A nice balance of cute and short story. Then all out crazy when there is a murder and story of a curse. Many die. A repeating story with different outcomes or viewpoints makes it an interesting story. To keep on the anime/Halloween theme, here is a vid to start off this weekend. It is in Japanese, but with English subtitles.

On a more serious note, I have hopped on the charity bandwagon as well. I have signed up for Extra-Life to help support Rady Children’s Hospital here in San Diego. We have had to use their services early in my son’s life. He had been in danger with spinal meningitis soon after birth. After a few weeks in the hospital with a PICC line for regular injections of antibiotics, he was a healthy baby again. Now he is an intelligent, happy little gamer.
