The LAN was great. We had 10 guys Starcrafting it up most of the day. We did a lot of 5v5 / 4v4 maps some FFA's that were just insane. I remember one game a guy next to me was in the game for about an hour (the match lasted over an hour) and he had built and lost 4 motherships in turn lol Just crazy stuff. We played some high yeild maps (start off with a gold base and 3 gas at your main).
I wouldn't say I did especially well - I think I was top tier of the bottom tier lol There were 3 guys that were definetly better than the rest of us and then I think I was one of the better bad players lol Which was fine. I got fucking probe / drone rushed in the first game - which was hilarious and annoying all at the same time.
Watched a lot of MLG Orlando this weekend as well. I think it was the best MLG I have seen so far - a lot of great matches and watching a couple of foreigners (not the band) go deep and then eventually watching the Can/AM player EG.HuK be the first player to win 2 MLG tournaments in Starcraft 2 was pretty awesome. I think the final 3 matches PvP were kind of bad. Basically 2 cheese wins followed by a fast all-in in the third game. It just wasn't very dramatic but I was happy for HuK!
I saw some crazy TvT matches between Boxer and The Little One - those matches were off the chart insane. I hate Terran but these matches were just crazy. Both players are so crazy - it was awesome. Here's some of the epic air battles! You know these games were insane - they both got out and were just sweating and so happy - even TLO was happy despite the loss.
Here is a great little article on the draw of Starcraft 2 as an eSport from Forbes Online
and here is a nerd chills video. This is a barcraft in Montreal, Quebec Canada where the bar instead of showing a football game or baseball game was broadcasting the MLG footage. Nerd Chills!
