Shared on Sat, 10/29/2011 - 23:30Well, I went bowling tonight with some people from my mom's church. I got approached by the preacher and asked if I was going to church anywhere. I got a funny, scolding look when I said no. Before I could get chewed out, I told him my husband works weekends and I don't drive, because lets face it, even if I do drive on occasion, its never all that far. He asked me if I'd mind someone picking me up. I said no, but was never asked for my address. To be honest, this guy is a big part of the reason I don't go. Its not really something I want to get into here, other than to say this guy implied that something that should NEVER have been my fault, was, and if I ever bring up the subject in my family this is regarding, my sister will never talk to me again. Not something I want to do. Bowling was fun though. I bowled on the team with two of this guy's sons, and they left me in the dust. LOL Everyone was bowling around 100, and I ended at 49, HAHA. The last time I bowled was on the Kinect. When I actually DO go bowling I have to use the lightest ball they have (was 6 pounds) and the finger grips are then too small for my fingers so I have hardly any grip on the ball at all.
This Monday I have to make a LOT of calls. I have to call CNM for my GED and TV-I transcripts, ITT Tech for transcripts from there, the vet for Charlie because he's still sick, he's been thowing up and had diarrhea for several days. He hasn't really been eating since he saw the dentist on Wednesday, and when he drinks, he drinks so much he throws up. We were supposed to give him soft food for a day or two after the vet did the dental cleaning, and we SHOULD have gone and got canned of the brand he'd been eating but we didn't, we got the Ceasar dog food and I think that's part of what made him sick, but then he wasn't eating his normal dog food either. So tonight we got some of the brand he'd been eating in the canned formula and I mixed it with the dry so he finally cleaned his bowl, we only give him half a cup anyway, so its not a lot at a time. Then he was looking at me for more so I know he did well with it. He's here on the couch sleeping next to me now. I'll likely still call the vet about it.
Aside from the phone calls I have to make Monday, I'll have a friend over to help me go through some grant books to see if I can get some grants to go back to school Hopefully I can get enough to go back and go online to Full Sail. I have one other school I have to call, but Full Sail is definitely looking like its the place for me. I talked to someone from Kaplan University. They're going to be really bummed out that I don't intend to go there because they were really excited about the possibility of me attending Kaplan. I also talked to University of Phoenix, but but Kaplan and Phoenix don't have locked tuition like Full Sail does. Full Sail may be expensive at $57K for their Creative Writing for Entertainment program which is a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree + the $2765 for the computer and software for my program, but their tuition is locked, meaning once I'm enrolled, tuition won't increase every semester like the other schools do. I also need to make a call to the lady who was going to have me tested for dyslexia to see if she found someone to test me, and if the insurance will help me out with something to help me. If so, I'm going to see if I can't get the insurance to cover the price of the computer for going back to school if the school will let me add additional applications to it because I found out that there are applications that help with dyslexia.
When I talked to the guy at Full Sail, he said that their creative writing program was more for writing movie and tv scripts, not publishing. I told him with the way my imagination works, and how I see my stories in my head, I thought that learning how to write scripts for movies might help me flesh out stories since I see them like movies in my head. I also told him, some of my ideas I'd love to see in film. I told PA that I would love to go down to Florida to study at the campus. The campus looks so awesome. 191,000 acres with a back lot for movie shoots, recording studios and computer animation and art studios. Unfortunately, I can't get down to Florida right now. I told PA that if I can afford to go through this program, any new class that falls under the degree after I graduate I can take for free, and that maybe I'll be able to go through a second program there some day and actually go to the campus for it, because there was actually more than one program I was interested in.
On the story news front, I've been editing the one of my original stories. Its the one I'd taken to the Albuquerque Ink Slingers meetings. If possible, I'd love to be able to post it here, if it will fit in blog format. Not sure how long a blog can actually be, but if I do, most posts for it will be marked NSFW just so people know. Watching Green Lantern now. May be online later - if I don't have to go church tomorrow *eyeroll* I don't knock anyone for their beliefs, so I hope I don't offend anyone, but I don't lable myself as anything. I know about some witchcraft but I don't label myself pagan or wiccan or anything like that, and I know meditation and have had past life regression, I've studied Christianity, having grown up in the Christian church, but I don't label myself Christian either. Sometimes I just wish people - like the preacher of my mom's church - would just let me be and not try and change me or 'save' me.

Update:
I tried again to get passed the moon lasers in Blue Dragon and kept getting my butt kicked so I did have to have PA help me past that part, but woo hoo! Now I'm on disc 3 of Blue Dragon and he only had to help me with the moon lasers. Everything else is all me!
