Upon booting up Halo CE, I felt that that graphics weren't all that great. However, I love the handy back button here which switches the textures to the original release. Wow, what a difference. It's fun taking that stroll down memory lane. In some cases, it shows you how far visuals have come (the far off vistas, etc...), but it also shows how much effort was put into creating a huge world even back in 2001. There are some spots that look dated, sure. However, many other show that this game truly was ambitious. Only posessing a passing interest in the Halo series, I come away with a little more appreciation of Halo CE. I wonder what the die hard Halo fans think of it.
A buddy and I played through the first chapter on legendary last night. Man, I died a lot. I did discover that grenades are more of a necessity. While it was fun, I think I'll play the rest of the game on normal.
I don't know if this is awesome, or sad. Yesterday, my girl sends me a text: "Got you Shrek at Target for $12.48. Thought you could get some easy cheevs".
