2old2play Member Receives Mt. Dew 360!

Since I am one of the few and hated winners of a free Xbox 360 from Mt. Dew(thanks Doodi), here are my thoughts on the new system so you all can know what to expect. First off, thanks to Mountain Dew. They really made the prize package worth while. As I rushed to open the box in the UPS parking lot this morning to see if it was the "good" version ( couldn't wait all day at home for it), the first thing I saw was the game "Kameo", not "NFS: Most Wanted" like I was suppose to get. Not a good sign but I kept digging through the packaging peanuts to see a white 360 box. My mind raced trying to remember if white was good or if green was. Reading the box confirmed it was the good one. Included was the headset, remote, wireless controller, four AA batteries, and the hard drive. After I got home I found a note inside saying enjoy Kameo now, your NFS:MW will be delivered in less than two weeks. For a bonus game, I can wait.

The dashboard is basically a lot like the demo KIOSKS you can find at WalMart or the like. Real easy to navigate. I don't think everything is up yet but I was able to download a demo of NBA Live06, Joust, and Gauntlet. I also could have download some trailers but it was time to play!

I bought Perfect Dark Zero and it is very beautiful and fun. Online multiplayer is great but having no jumping ability is hard to revert back to. The bad thing about it though was the headset was lagging bad. After about three to ten seconds, you could hear yourself start talking. The wireless headsets had to be to blame in my opinion. Big arsenal of weapons at your disposal. Sniper rifles, swords, shields, x-ray guns, mines, and a lot more. My favorite is the return of the fly-by wire rockets from the original Perfect Dark. When you fire, it puts you in "rocket cam" as you control the rocket. Best weapon ever.

Kameo is...well it has....heck it was free. If you can't tell, I am not impressed. The thing is that it just isn't my type of game. I will try it again later but I will almost certainly trade this off right away.

I tried to play Halo 2 and it came up fine. Looked real nice. Problem is it didn't recogize me as being online. Hopefully this issue will be fixed on Tuesday. For now, I could do some old-fashioned sword flying I guess.

One small issue was trying to message anyone on my friends list. I received three messages but none of my return messages were responded to. So I powered up my old XBOX and entered a chat with a friend who said he got nothing back. Again, wait till after Tuesday to worry.

Lastly I played a DVD in it for my neglected family. Played great and popped-up online messages at the bottom like when someone on my friends list came online. Very cool.

OK enough typing, more playing.
