Monday: Crappier than usual

I'll admit that I dread Mondays.  I like my job, but I hate not being able to have my dog at my side while I'm there.  Today started horribly though...  I learned that the family that adopted one of my Pen Pals is bringing him back today.  I'm left with a ton of questions.

This dog was incredible during the time I worked with him.  He walked nicely on leash, got along with other dogs, took treats like a gentleman, etc.  We've received updates from the family telling us how perfect he is...  The shelter contacted the family last week and the family iterated how happy they were and that there were no issues.  Now they're returning him!?! 

I don't know what happened from point a to point b, but I'm beyond sad.  In fact, I don't know to classify how I feel.  There's certainly some frustration going on, but beyond that...
