Shared on Mon, 04/23/2012 - 10:25As I posted in a blog way back in V2, 6 months ago I shot a deer with my .357 revolver. I fierd 3 times, with the only shot that appeared to connect was the last, which dropped the deer almost in its tracks, and I only found one bullet hole while cleaning the deer. Well, Friday I got a call that the hide was finished and ready for pick up. So, off I went. I paid the guy $65 (after we were done comparing our side arms) and he dug through a pile of hides until he came across mine. I was very proud of it. and he said it was one of the larger hides he had come in, he even had a local fur shop try to buy it from him. Here it is.....it still needs to be streatched since it was hanging loose while it cured, but even like it is, it takes up most of the top of my tourniment size pool table.
So, after I gave it a quick look I flipped it over I saw something interesting.......
3 hits, based on their placement and proximity all 3 were kill shots, the bottom 2 were lung and heart shots, and the top one shot at an angle would have taken out the diaphram, one lung and heart. All this time I though my first 2 shots missed, I ran 300 rounds trying to figure out how I could have missed at such close range but still been dead on at 65yrds....and turns out I hadn't missed at all.
