Shared on Tue, 05/08/2012 - 09:51So I went to the polling places today only to get told I was at the wrong polling place due to redistricting, apparently I didn’t get the memo. I felt a little like the politicians were lining up in front of me, not to tell me that they were ready to serve the republic but to buy time to dance on my grave. Who knows when I will die but I am sure the government will have a hand in it maybe even a foot or an elbow as well.
I dangled grapes above my mouth and ate them like a roman countryman, however I just felt like I was getting tea-bagged by a munchkin or maybe a mini centaur Pegasus.
I joined Facebook yesterday. I’m not quite sure why, people have been trying to get me to join for years and when I sat down in front of the computer it just felt like I was at work. I thought to myself: I am so disinterested in this; I’d rather be on the Xbox. I feel people should either call me or don’t, I want more than just some message board. I feel like people post stuff like sticking gum to the top of a desk or a telephone poll, or tagging a fence with spray paint. It’s show and tell 24/7. There is a reason why people get paid to write and produce movies and TV, otherwise we would have had Facebook a long time ago…it’s free for a reason.
I know people want to spy on their kids and friends want to live vicariously through others. I feel like this is the era of cold war social networking. People should have non-proliferation treaties when comes to adding friends, it’s like Facebook wants everyone to be friends. Who else feels like we are all stuck in a Coca-Cola commercial? I mean I love peace and prosperity but the peer pressure of disavowing friends on social networking sites is like telling the Medieval Catholic Church that the God is a figment of their imagination. I feel like I am being forced to share my lunch in grade school. I only brought enough sandwich for one…no you can’t have half…I see you have your own sandwich…why are you all staring at me…I’m not the one who imposed my belief system on you…damn fanatics…
I like the social networking of the 1890’s:
- You stay on your land and I will stay on mine.
- If I don’t know you, duck or walk away slowly. Bullets are for game, but don’t press your luck.
- You write on my wall, I cut off your arm and repaint.
- My land is for friends only, it’s not public.
- Don’t take my picture and post it on your land, you won’t like it when I take it back.
- The only thing I know how to tag is with a gun and I eat it.
- It’s not that I’m mean or unfriendly it’s just that the world is full of unkind folk.
- Animals don’t lie.
