General Motors says it will start selling a Chevrolet Impala sedan next summer that runs on both natural gas and gasoline.
Natural gas is plentiful in the U.S. and is cheaper than gasoline. AAA says gas costs about $3.35 per gallon. Natural gas fueling station company Clean Energy says compressed natural gas costs $2.94 for the amount equal to a gallon of diesel fuel.
Am I wrong or shouldn't the natural gas price be closer to $2.25 a gallon? This sounds way too high to me as I've seen natural gas, or LP fueled cars discussed before and the cost per galon was way loer triggering the " I'd buy that" response. This isn't that big a difference in price.
Also, the cost to convert a car to natural gas in other countries is way less than 1k and here the process is closer to 6k, WTH gives with that? I can remember a fleet in my home town running Ford Pickups on natural gas back in the 80's and it was cheaper then compared to the gas pump at the time as well, and gas itself was way lower then as well.
