And The Winner is? Wii

Nintendo has to be the happiest company in the world right now. Not because they had a great show at E3, but because BOTH of its competitors have had high level executives come out and state buyers should buy a Nintendo as their second system. How is that for advertising?

Last week Microsoft's VP of Interactive Entertainment Peter Moore stated "People are going to buy two [machines]. They're going to buy an Xbox and they're going to buy a Wii ... for the price of one PS3."

Now there is news that Sony executive Phil Harrison has stated "I think Peter Moore is exactly right, I think Nintendo will be the second system consumers purchase after PlayStation 3."

Harrison went on to say "I haven't had a chance to check out the Wii myself, but Nintendo has a great history of innovation and has always done great things for gaming and long may they do so."

Peter Moore is pushing Nintendo because consumers can have 2 consoles for the price of 1 Sony console, i.e. people aren't buying a PS3. Phil Harrison is pushing a product he hasn't even "had a chance to check out" yet because people aren't buying an Xbox360. I can see both of these guys sitting in their evil lair giving the evil Mr. Burns laugh thinking they have just conquered the console world. Well Mr. Executives, let me clue you in on a little thing called math. If consumers are buying a Wii with either an Xbox360 or a PS3, aren't they selling 2 consoles for every 1 of your consoles? So in the end if they follow your logic, won't Nintendo be #1 in this generation of console wars?

These guys are making the job of Reggie Fils-Aime too damn easy.
