Looking for a tune for VW Beetle
Class doesn't matter, lower better I'd say, but I have a paint in the S/F that's sold over 250 copies and I wanna drive the damn thing once in a while, competitively would be nice. As I say I don't care what class, where ever it's sweet spot happens to be, but I am in need of lower class cars, seems mine keep creeeping upwards.
BTW, Stewie, THANK YOU for the Austin, it is heavenly. If anything it's a bit mellow, but I think that's how it should be, really a pleasure to drive!
I put a tune up on my SF if you want to check it out. Let me know how it compares to Pap's
Pap's tune drives like it's RWD...it's SuhWeeeeet!!!!
My original tune had lift oversteer, but I fitted the largest rear tires I could on it so that it feels a bit more stable.
That's a really hard car to build though, as it doesn't naturally excel in any category out of the box, so there isn't a clear direction to go. Normally I avoid trans upgrades in lower classes unless there is some PI advantage(Honda), but in the end I felt it necessary to put the racing trans in it because the stock one was just killing me. Even though I "lost" some PI doing that, it carries 3mph faster through the straight on Mugello short, so I guess it was in a way worth it.
All that said, I still can't get that thing anywhere near as fast as my favorite non-LB cars.
