It seems that the confusion on the "ships date" of November 12th is slightly off. It has been said that EB & Gamestop will have trucks at the warehouse at 12:01AM on November 7th.
Microsofts warehouse will be ready to hand over copies of Gears of War on November 7th - five days before its Emergency Day (the general day everyone can get it). There are no rules stating the stores must hold back until November 12th for this game.
Do the math, and you can see that the game will be on shelves the minute it hits the EB/Gamestop dock. That date is different for each store given the fact that nobody has yet to successfully create wormholes in the space time continuum. So, you might hit an EBStore on the 8th or 9th and see the game fresh off the docks, or you may be stuck waiting until the 12th.
That means some of us may be playing this game earlier then expected. It may only be a few days early, but I know a few gear heads who won't shut up about this game.
