IGN Halo 4 Article Spartan Specializations.
Found first by Dixon Tufar.
Ton of stuff on Armour and specializations.

Greenskull does another good synopsis.
What clothes am I going to wear? That's a lot of stuff to learn.
I think better explanations are in the Bulletin tomorrow.
I see David Ellis stomping on misconceptions and explaining errors in the IGN article.
There is a lot of leveling up to do before you can even start on your specialization. A lot of work to get it.
LE owners will be able to make starting choices from all specializations but they still have to earn it. SE owners have to unlock all but the first two specializations.
My brain hurts. I wonder if doodirock will like all of these meta things? Seems a bit like MMORPG character attributes.
Some of the armor looks really crazy. That kinda scares me, but it might end up being really cool. I like the idea of getting rewarded more for being the driver of a vehicle.
I think the vehicle perk is pretty cool, but I dont know how much I would use it if the Hog handles like it does in Reach.
Seems like these attributes are so slight an advantage that this could work. Still not too thrilled about it, though.
Mr. Ed died a looooong time ago. I'm not aware of any other talking horses but good luck!
I said "talking horses" not "hung like a horse". Sheesh.
A seahorse, maybe.

They seem subtle enough that nothing jumps out as a gamebreaker. I'm eager to see how they really affect the game. There are some definite team play advantages involved there.
So many questions arise - Can you work on more than one at a time? How are they implemented? Is it something you can easily swap, or is it something you have to commit to?
I would think your specialization is part of your loadout, so you select it and start working toward the unlocks. Seeing how we will be able to customize multiple loadouts, and these can be switched during the game, then you can easily swap specializations (once unlocked) assuming you have them in a loadout.
I could be wrong though. Hopefully this week's bulletin will have some clarification.
I'm still unsure about CoD invading my Halo space, but at least these specializations may open up team strategy more than armor abilities did.
I hope we get many questions answered tomorrow, but it still won't be good enough until we get to play with them. As it is now, I'm most curious about Rogue, Stalker, and Pioneer for the early part.
I have to say, for a guy that was ALL HALO ALL THE TIME but got sick of the repetitive nature of the series, this actually looks like a positive change to me. What scares me most about halo is maintaining the "feel" of the game play. If 343 can do that, I'm all for new ways to play.
HaloGAF/NeoGAF is butt hurt they think the specializations will give huge advantage.
HBO is butt hurt the armour is not old style Halo.
You can't please them all or in the same way.
I think this will be really cool if they pull it off and it works well. The more info I read, the more excited for November I get. Seems like halo 4 will have fresh storyline content with Spartan ops and the MP will have nuances that previous Halo's tried and failed. Fingers crossed
Data on Waypoint too.

That first weapon skin looks bad ass.
Agreed. In fact I kind of like them all. I don't think I would even miss the original skin all that much. Lets face it, it's not like you can even see yourself.
Out of those, Rogue best suits me for my mid-long range fighting. I'll have to wait to see what the other specs will be. Operator could be useful too. I always did enjoy driving hogs in H3. Driving the moon-hog in Reach was useless.
I know a couple of Over 50 that love driving so I think Operator will be their choice.
Updated OP with Greenskull synopsis..
The real question is: can I make my Spartan solid black again?
