Retail outlets in the UK have confirmed it, Xbox 360 core has reduced the price to UK199 for the Core next-generation system.
Microsoft is denying that the order came from them, and the retailers are denying that they decided to reduce the cost of the system. The end result is the same, the cost of the product has been dropped around the UK to £199 for the core system.
Premium system costs have not changed. Why drop the core system? To plan for next-generation intrusion from Nintendo or Sony? Or perhaps because the core system contains very little value when compared to the features found in a Xbox 360 Pro box?
Maybe in time we'll know who really started the trend of price reduction. It may or may not be Microsoft related.
