I don't have A50s. But I do have the wireless mix amp for my A40s. I had some slight issues with interference but that's because DSmooth was a seat over with his Astro Wireless mixamp. It was nothing major.
I did have headset issues on Saturday, but that was just an id10t error. I accidently set all game communications to mute with in Halo.
haha thanks Lala. I'll probably toss my a40's in a box to keep for LANs. Dunno yet. Can't imagine the very first edition of them are worth much anymore.
I pre-orderd the A50s and loved them. They were the most amazing headphones I had ever used. The sound quality was mind blowing. But as you can guess from the use of past-tense, I no longer have them.
The audio channel would hiccup sporadically every 3 to 40 minutes. Combined with the piss poor noise gate and mic gain, I had to return them. It was devastating. I still miss them. And as soon as the next generation is released and verified, I will buy them again without pause.
Astro is trying to workout the bugs, but updates are very far and few.
On the other hand. They are thousands of units sold. If they were all bad, Astro would have issued a recall. There is a good chance that if you were to buy one you might not have any issues whatsoever.
I should note that the noise gate/mic gain issue seems to be limited to the Xbox 360. The issues that were plaguing the PoS3 users seem to have been resolved.
Also: If you plan on using them on your PC you will need an audio card capable of outputting Dolby Digital Live via SPDIF/TOSLINK.
I pulled the trigger on my A50s early January and I absolutely love them. I have had no issues cept clanmates saying I'm loud. Thats on their end. I regret nothing and CoD and Fora sound amazing through them. I will only own astros from now on!!

Excellent. Good to hear. I may purchase a set sooner than I thought.
I have them also . I use them for my PS3 . I use the Tritton Warheads for xbox360 the reason being that they are compleletly wireless and work perfectly with my Csr elite wheel. When trying to connect any type of wired headset that uses a wire to run from the headset to the wheel for chat the sound quality is crap and if it does sound good it cuts in and out..Since using the Warheads I have had no problem what so ever. Well worth the price.

Will do. Though I won't be able to speak to how they are in a LAN setting with all the wireless signals in one spot.
LAN or not Shadow, I just want to know how they perform vs the A40s
