Smack Talking just got taken to the next level with the Smack Talk (TM) from Digital Innovations.
Digital Innovations has been around since 1995 and makes a variety of items to help protect, maintain and optimize consumer electronics digital media. Their flagship product, the SkipDR set the world standard for CD/DVD repair. Digital Innovations just announced their new $29.99 accessory for the Xbox360 controller, the GameDR(TM) Smack Talk(TM). Digital Innovations lets you blast out the Smack Talk with the press of a button injecting your pre-recorded voice or effects into your games to annoy the crap out of everyone.
The Smack Talk plugs into your Xbox360 controller and then your wired headset plugs into the Smack Talk. You can pre-record up to five 5 second clips of yourself, favorite movie 1 liner, favorite sound effect, favorite victory song, whoopee cousin (or the real thing) or whatever else you can think of. Audio is recorded via the headset mic or the provided cable and will play into the game as well as into your headset when you push one of the buttons.
The Smack Talk comes with 5 pre-loaded sound effects such as an evil laugh and crowd applause, each sound effect is mapped to it's own individual button. These stock sounds can of course be overwritten with your own amusing, annoying and irritating sounds at the touch of a button. To record your own voice, you just jack in your headset, hit record then hold one of the 5 sound effect buttons you want to assign your trash talk to. If you want to record from an audio device like an iPod or your PC, the process is similar you just connect your audio device to the Smack Talk via an 1/8" stereo patch cable which is conveniently supplied.
To power your Smack Talk, you will need 3 AAA batteries but don't worry about having to re-record if your smack talking goes into overtime and you run out of juice. All your sounds are recorded to flash memory, so nothing will be lost when you change out your batteries. The GameDR Smack Talk will be available at Best Buy, Circuit City, EB Games and Game Stop for an MSRP of $29.99 or you can buy from the source at www.digitalinnovations.com .
