Pwn'ing in the new year!
Hello fellow 2o2p'ers. I am posting a thank you to those I rolled with last night that made the end of 2012 go out with a bang! Kurupt, Sun and Wildedge!! It was a blast we steam rolled most of our matches and I am quite certain made many many a mech pilot cuss and yell at their monitors.
Here is to a new year of blowing shit up!
~Cyn
Happy New Year everyone, I look forward to blasting our enemies as well as making them scream and curse our names everytime they see us.
Thanks Cyn.
I had a good time rolling with the 2o2p group(s) over Monday and Tuesday and glad I joined.
Welcome to 2o2p
I finished installing and updating on the new PC last night... hopefully I'll have a few games with you guys tonight! I hope I don't forget how to play! :)
Lucky!
Hopefully if this year goes well I will be getting a new gaming pc by the summer.! But currently I have not been in game lately, partly due to my crap monitor, partly due to Real life. Hope to see ya all friday and get some good games in! Yes sir!
New PC??? Oh do tell. Computer hardware is my profession.
Well, it's not really a NEW new PC... it's just I'm finished cobbling together the one I've been cobbling together :) well, almost... cobbling, as it turns out, is a pretty much infinite task. I have a new cooler on the way so I can overclock. :) Anyhow, here's what I have so far:
Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 MB
AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz CPU
Asus Radeon HD 7870 video
I also got a cool new case and a 1KW power supply! Fun little xmas project! :)
I to am an ASUS fan I have the Sabertooth Z77. I have found in my couple of decades of work in the field that computers are and will always be a very expensive hobby! Interesting fact your average refrigerator uses between 300-400 watts. So that PS is like having 2 and a half new fridges.
Even though it has the power of up to 2 fridges, it's a good thing the electric company will only bill you for what you're using.
LOL... I always try to get my electro students thinking along those lines when we start talking power and wattage. I'd be interested in seeing how much of that 1KW I'm using typically, to be honest, I'm not one to run any power-saver stuff! They probably think I'm setting up a grow-op in my house! :)
Anyhow, I did a quick playtest during my lunch break. I'm sure some of you remember that I was getting below 20 frames with everything on low. For the heck of it, I did my first test with everything on very high... the frames didn't dip below 20, and looked to average about 30+! WOOO
I playtested a couple of other games as well that were giving my system trouble before, just for reference... I was playing Hitman: Absolution at medium with an average of about 30 FPS, and a quick benchmark at ultra (highest setting) had my average frames at about 35 :)
Just wait until I overclock this thing! In the meantime, it's ON TONIGHT
