Ford Raptor on the Nordschleife

Late last week Ford posted a video on Youtube with Tanner Foust talking about driving the Ford F-150 Raptor around the Nurburgring.

Here's the video in case you missed it.

That looked like fun.  So I popped onto Forza and built this...

Upgraded to B500 but in keeping with the spirit of the video I avoided going with a full race setup.
Instead I went with sport suspension upgrades, widened the tires but left the stock compound and used the rest of the PI room on the engine.

While it's not a precise and refined as other cars I've raced on the Nordschleife it'll reach 160 on the main straight and is quite a bit of fun to bounce and slide around in.  It's pretty predictable and easy to drive.  The challenge is trying to set a clean quick lap.  I've come close but usually somewhere alonf the line I'll drop a tire or two off and dirty the lap.

I've shared the tune on my storefront if anyone else wants to give it a try.  A few words of warning. Speed + turning + curbs = rollover.

Seems like we've done this at least once or twice during some casual sessions. As I recall we only used stock trucks though. this should be entertaining at least lol.

Those are not stock compound tires. The Raptor comes with BFGs and those are Toyos. The Toyos won't be as grippy on pavement.

Assuming that the stock tire compound in the game is the least grippy it makes sense then that the Toyos would be the default tire on the truck.  My guess is the street or sport tire compounds look more like the BFG's.  I did try the race compound originally but they were a bit too grippy given the high center of gravity and no aero.  First time through Schwedenkreuz at speed I rolled it.
