Late To The Game
Having just picked p Forza 4, I am a little late to the game. I picked up the game at GS and when I got home, I noticed that they had given me a different box. Turns out I have the essentials version. Not sure what this means. How many discs come with this game? Did I get hosed? Is there a version with more discs and cars? How about dlc? How much am I going to spend getting caught up there? Any essential dlc I need? Any to avoid?
The essential version is only one disk and is missing a lot of cars and tracks.
The full game has 2 disks.
I'm do think however that you can install the disk 2 on to your Xbox if you lend one from someone and then just use the disk you have to boot the game.
Incorrect from what I've heard Church.
H2Daddy, I'd go trade it back in saying they gave you the wrong game. It's only $3 more for the regular version at my GS preowned. If you go trade it back in and get the regular one pre owned, you'll be much better off. Customer is always right. If you decide to do this and your preowned game is missing the 2nd disc, let us know on here, we can ship you the install disc and you'll be set. Its roughly $20-$30 to get the car packs as DLC that are contained on the 2nd disc. Trust me, it'll be worth the trouble to return it. Let us know your decision.
Sounds like GameStop and I are going to have a little talk this afternoon. I know I didn't grab a box that said essentials on it. They swapped it on me.
Yea well I certainly would take it back and get the game you grabbed not the essentials version. There is quite a bit of additional dlc cars tho, and the porsche pack too. I enjoy the dlc cars which didn't come with the game. Surpised they haven't come out with a Platnium version with all the tracks and cars like previous versions released.
Incorrect on the cars or the installing disk 2 trick?
Hey h2daddy :)
Let us know if you need any thing :)
Yes church, you CANNOT use disc 2 to install content for essentials. Essentials does not have the option to install disc 2 content. Thus making it to where people cant do that like they did in FM2 and possibly FM3 (not sure on that). People were buying PHs version of FM2 and selling or lending out Disc 2 to people without the content. Thus making T10 and MS loose money. They didn't make the same mistake this time around. Smart of them to catch on finally. But no one said anything about a preowned without the content disc. Mwahahahaha!
Yeah me, Hyper and Wonka passed the Ultimate FM3 disk around with us.
Damn T10!
Problem solved. I had to drive 30 minutes out of the way but I now have the full version. Thanks for the info guys now I just need to get accepted into the fof list so I can start racing with you guys.
What time zone/ hours do you usually play? This will help get you into a in game club that will benefit you with people likely on when you are. Also let's the club officer know he needs to get on the job and send you an invite.
We have 4 in game clubs, 3 U.S time zones and a Euro group. I play a lot of afternoons so I'm in the euro club and then I have a lot of the guys over here in the U.S on my friends list.I guess I'm the U.S liason to the Euro's, hehe,
Glad to hear its sorted and Welcome. Never too late for Forza. you may find it gets under your skin.
See you on track.
I think your already on my list for BF3, you are always welcome to join any rooms I'm in.
Feel free to send a Friend request my way on XBL.
I am in the eastern time zone. Usually play from 8-8:30 until about 10:30 every night. I am a teacher so in a couple of weeks, that will be even later.
I"ve sent a central division invite. Should be in your message box in game.
I noticed that the GS near me has a bunch of Essentials editions disks for sale for quite a bit of $$$$
I have teh Essentials disk because that is what came with the console. It's probably another 20 bucks or so to get all the cars that are already on the 2 disk version. Plus DLC cars and the porche pack. I've got around $60 in DLC into the game and I still don't have all the DLC.
When the Ultimate came out for Forza 3 I hadn't bought any DLC yet, so went out and picked up the Ultimate pack for $20 and it was way cheaper.
That said, when 4 came out I went ahead and got the season pass and have bought all the DLC sets since. And I'd say it's because I found the extra cars in Forza 3 to be a really enjoyable addition to the game for me. It's a shame they haven't done this for Forza 4, but hey, I'm not in marketing...(idiots...)
Yeah, I even bought the porsche pack, and I hated the porsches in Forza 3...
I am trying to figure out which dlc I want to get now. What does a season pass give me? I really wish that you could just get everything all at once for one low price.
So can someone explain how the club deal works? What exactly is a club? Things seem to have changed a little since F3.
On a side note, I have really enjoyed working on my career mode and actually doing some racing. I need to get in some matches with some real people though because with the bots, I tend to beat and bang and I need to learn to race cleanly.
A club is just a group that belongs to one club so that you are always racing with the same people. And the ONLY way to enjoy the game. Public lobbies are 90% HORSESHIT and single player gets old fast. I quit single player after a few weeks.
@Daddy - Not to be interpreted as being forced to race with the same people all the time. For instance, Parcells will race against you and I'm in the Euro club (which you'll never be btw, very prestigious club).
Not sure the Euro club is my cup of tea. ( see what I did there ) ok seriously. I'm in the central and got my cherry popped tonight. Got several races in and had a blast. Driving several different cars in the club garage helped me try out some new cars also. I have a lot to learn but this seems the right place to do it.
If you're implying we're kind, helpful and knowledgeable, you're seriously gonna screw our rep dude...
however if you meant we're outrageously seriously skilled road jockeys and one day you can only hope to come close to our greatness, well, welcome aboard!!!!
Uh, Us Americans are pretty quick too. We may not have as many resident aliens as the Euro guys. But we can hold our own. How many skilled drifters and drag racers you got? It's funny watching some of the Euro guys "try" to drift..gif)
A club is a friends list INGAME, not associated with your LIVE list, that gives you access to others cars they place in the clubhouse garage, as well as more lists to look at in the rivals and leaderboards options...more people to populate your Friends and Club list on the leaderboards. ALSO, you can give and received with one click ( or so ) of a button, a club wide invite to your lobby.
Check out your news/rivals/etc tabs in game when you can.
The club garage is the biggest plus of being part of a club. You can go in and test drive or race any of the shared cars anytime. If there are some that you really like, you can let your club member who shared it know and they will probably hook you up with it.
Cooter, I live 15 minutes from Bristol Tennessee, just what ARE you implying?
I forgot we are neighbors. Maybe we can trade moonshine recipes sometime.
Oh wait, you're poking Parcells, carry on....
Cooter's been around long enough you think he would know better..gif)
@DumbAssCooter - Oldschool's solid argument aside, you seem to be mistaking fast/drifting/skills with prestigious. They are not the same bud and fast/drifting/skills are not what makes the Euro club so prestigious. Furthermore, I'm not at liberty to share what makes us so great its part of our mystique. Now move along and don't concern yourself with complex ideas your simple mind cannot comprehend.
