PSU is internal.... https://twitter.com/aegies/status/336911609228300288

In this article you can see where the power will come in.
And in this one you can clearly see that there is not an internal PSU.

HDD - much easier to plug in whatever USB 3.0 drive you want to expand, without opening the box.  So small - because it cuts the cost down and lets users decide how much space they need.

The HDD is not upgradeable, AT ALL. Which means that is the most your system will ever have. At least with the 360 they gave you the option to purchase larger HDD. I don’t what to have to keep another storage device plugged into my system. As big as the frakking box is, they could have put a 3.5” user upgradable drive in it if they wanted to. They instead chose to make it a PITA Again!

I would say no wired controller considering there is no USB on the front of the system that I can see.  Considering how the WiDi works and the Kinect being necessary, Wireless would be the way to go anyway.

I don’t see this going over well with the MLB circuit.
Shadow wrote:

Doubt it - condering Kinect can translate voice.  I'll bet you could just speak your text, or just sending a voice message would be easier anyway.

I have ZERO interest in talking to my TV, None, Nada, ZILCH. I will send a message via the web page before I dictate to a frakking toaster.
Shadow wrote:

Don't need USB audio for the A50's - there is a SPDIF out.

S/PDIF only carries the system audio. You have to use a cable from the headset to the controller for chat on the 360. This is not the case for the PS3. The chat audio is carried through the USB connection that powers the transceiver. I want to know if this will be the same for the X1.
Shadow wrote:

Bluetooth was not listed in the specs, so I highly doubt it.  Seems like they're doing WiDi.

WiDi is a wireless video standard and not intended for IO.

Power brick - it's a non-issue for me.  Possibly Polygon is wrong.  Either way I don't care.  If it's external that's probably better as internal makes it hotter inside.

Much rather buy any USB 3.0 drive and plug a wire in.  I don't see why internal is better for you.  For me external is easier, drives are small.  The actual drive isn't upgradeable, and I said that - however storage IS.

I assume you mean MLG, not MLB.  I guess we'll see how well Wi-Fi Direct Radio works over regular RF interference-wise.  I've never had a problem at the LAN with wireless controllers.

Sounds like you are angry about the Kinect, which is neither here nor there.  If a quick voice message or video message is super quick, I'd much rather do that then pull out a chat pad and type a paragraph.

That USB input would be good, but I'm not sure it would work with current hardware.

Sorry, I meant Wi-Fi Direct Radio

Cool beans, I'm not fussed. But on the off change I'm wanting to post something relevant, can you please post  a checklist somehwere on this site where people can point-check their post against what Lbsutke finds acceptable on even days of the week compared to odd days of the week?

Thanks. ^^

LB has a low tolerance for bullshit on the best of days, however when an externally promoted thread devolves into a nerdy dick joust, you can pretty much kiss those posts goodbye. Expect the XBox One thread to be closely monitored, at least until after the show. I didn't realize that the days of the week were numbered....is Tuesday odd or even? Please advise.

Lb has a huge tolerance for bullshit.  It's just that we as a community have an inordinate talent for dishing it out.

It's never a bad time to remember that LB and a whole assload of people work to keep the lights on here without being paid.  Regardless of your opinion on how they do the job don't forget to keep in mind that the only motivation any of them have for the thankless task is to provide us with a forum to be dicks.

Thank you LB et.al. for providing me with the opportunity.

All except Derek.

He can eat a dick.

I hope we will be able to discuss consoles after E3 in a thread on this forum even if there are viewpoints that aren't exactly the same.

He's ugly, does that count? Gotta give him points for the "look" though...

That's my  random, "as relevent as all the other crap this week" statement and I'm sticking to it!

More on point, there's been multiple references to a permanent internal power supply and USB3.0 external HDD's, apparently anyone's, used for extra memory. Why are these continually being brought up?

Honestly, some of us racers prefer a hardwired connection for controllers, but I'm told this system is faster, so, wait n see, as with everything else...personally I hate fussing with rechargable batteries, so there's that, hehe, Autarch, lecture me on how backwards I am for not wanting a wireless controller or wireless headset? Go ahead...factoro in kids that refuse to charge batteries yet fuss when they aren't, oh and explain how batteries are a viable better alternative to a hardwire for the environment while you''re at it.

Oh, and I absolutely HATE the color...

My personal preference on Xbox 360 was the wired controller.

When I used a wireless controller, I would have an empty battery pack, but keep it plugged in via a play and charge cord.

I sit too far away from my TV to use wired.  Also I can be seated, grab a controller on my side table and turn on my 360 without having to go plug something in.  No wires for kids/pets to trip on.

We did a very informal test amongst three or 4 of us and we determined we had better response, and quicker times using the wired controller vs wireless on the XB360.

Like I said, "I'm told" the newer wireless is better, but I doubt anythings as fast as a cord. Plus cord was lighter...try a 2 hour race sometime...

Just as I thought, it can be turned off, and isn't always recording.

Also, is this now the thread that the other one was, but with a more tantrum theme to it?

That said, I'll be waiting until it's released before I pass final judgement.  But reguardless of XBox1 or PS4, a new console isn't very high on my priority list for this fall/winter.

I can see Microsoft doing themed ONEs later that have larger HDDs, maybe 750s or something.  Remember the 360's HDD is only at most in the 300gb range so that's a 200gb jump.  I'd normally say that an internal drive is going to be faster than an external drive, but USB3 can get up to a theoretical 5 Gb/s where as USB 2 was only like 450 Mb/s.  I haven't read what SATA they're usign in the ONE yet so it's hard to compare.  I would imagine at most it's 5 Gb/s external vs 6 Gb/s internal.

HDD capacity is going to be a much bigger deal in ONE because of it's mandatory install requirement.  I'm guessing most installs are going to take around 20-25 gigs of storage capacity,  with a few AAA titles pushing the 45-50 gig max capacity.  I think I'd keep the internal drive for installs and keep videos and what not off on a USB3  capable drive if/when storage was getting in short supply.

Microsoft is investing one billion dollars in exclusive games for Xbox One.  http://www.vg247.com/2013/05/29/xbox-one-microsoft-investing-at-least-1-billion-into-next-gen-games/

Feel free to say how that's a billion dollars of kinect games, or that the money is government funds for their spying assistance, or whatever drool comes out that sounds like something worth saying.

Hope that fits within what this thread is about, I have no idea

Probably half that budget went to Activision to time delay CoD DLC on other platforms and bring it to ONE first.
