Old Movie's thread...(Death Race 2000...)
Bumbled around Netflix yesterday and stumbled over Death Race 2000 !!!
Hooboy, I remember that! Stallones first movie! The rockfaced David Caradine !!! Campy race cars made outta VW's!
Roger Corman!!! 70's hairdo's!!! Roger Corman!!! low budget/no budget!!! Roger Corman!!!
It was all I remembered and worse!!! Loved every minute of it!
The Lords of Flatbush was Stallone's first movie.
Ok, first one I saw him in...
I do remember Lords of Flatbush, but I didn't see it when it first came out.
'sides, he wasn't the star in either, less so in Flatbush. In Death Race he was the main protagonist, if you don't count the oppressive Mr. President/Global Government, or the French.
Anyone remember Mary Woronov? Hubba Hubba. (Calamity Jane)
In the interest of Accuracy, it was his 9th movie, and here they are in order leading up to it...

Didn't she get blown up? That movie was kind of weird, not for Corman I guess, but it was weird. How did Frankenstein become President in the end? Cars were kind of cool though.
He killed the President with the car affectionately named "Monster".
And yes, she was killed by a landmine chasing rebels on really campy looking motorcycles.
Corman was credited as a producer.
Isn't that how Klingons advance their positions, by murdering their predecessor? Et omnis amor pulchrum in curriculo progressionem: All's fair in love and career advancement.
And badly made movies it seems...
What about JUDGE DRED? "I AM THE LAW". Or Demolition Man. 2 other Stallone Classics.
Umm, the goal really wasn't to watch Stallone, it never really is...
The goal was an old corny Roger Corman B movie blast from the past with some silly movie studio cars, and real boobs, however small...
Don't forget about Rambo and Rocky...two other Stallone classics. We should all watch a Stallone movie tonight and tell Oldschool about it tomorrow.
Agreed Jonesy. Expendibles?
Oh yeah, and follow up with some 80s cheese like Stop or My Mom Will Shoot or Over the Top.
