For those of us that enjoy playing wrestling games and have been waiting for a decent one to come to our Xbox 360 - the wait is over.
Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 is finally here. I know, Xbox and Xbox 360 owners have been screwed over in the past by THQ. This time THQ decided the best thing would be to take their hit wrestling series and share it with other gameing consoles. But like all good games, there are a few bugs that needs to be worked out for this game to be truely great.
When you play ladder matches, things get a little hectic as well. When you want to move the ladder you will, oftentimes, automatically start climbing it rather then picking it up.
All I can say about this is that it needs to be patched ASAP, the lag I experienced when playing was horrible. It was fun to play online with a couple of 2o2p members but frustrating at the same time.
Overall, I'll give Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Story & Character Design
The gameplay is something worthwhile, each brand has its own individual storyline. Which adds a great deal to the overall replayablity. The "Create A Character" option is much better than the Wrestlemainia 21 feature of the same name which Xbox owners where tortured with. The biggest problem with Wrestlemainia 21 was once you created your character you were stuck with that same character. If there was something you didn't like about your character, you had to just basically rebuild your character from scratch. This time around you have full control of your character creation.
Controls
They are easy to pick up after a few minutes of gameplay, but the mapping to the controls could have been better. In my opinion, having the "back" button to change your focus on your opponent was a bad move. I continue to hit the damn media button. The left analog button would have been a great substitution for the bad placement on this button.When you play ladder matches, things get a little hectic as well. Sound
The music, as usual, is great and you don't get stuck with one voice for your created character. The announcers will eventually start to get a little repetitive but they can be muted in the options menu.Online Play
