why is this card $85 ?

are there some combo's possible with this card or what ??

it doesn't seem to be a very interresting card to me.

I can see where it might be useful, to prevent someone from tapping mana to counter your spell or something, or using effectsof nonbasic lands like Desert or something. I certainly can't see it being anything special though.

It is expensive because it is used in competitive decks that are very fast (maybe goblins?), so if one can effectively stall their opponent one turn, or keep them from having access to a second color, it is a game breaker. Kinda like Wastelands..great in fast formats, not that big a deal in casual.

I believe everything you say but it still seems counterintuitive to tap 2 of your lands to tap 1 of his. Although if you were running a land destruction deck and had him down already then continueing to bugger up his mana supply would be the lock on the game. Btw, please nobody demonstrate this LD deck on me. 102

It’s a Legacy staple card that has never been reprinted on cardboard. It is a major part of Legacy Goblins & Legacy Death and Taxes which just won the SCG Open last week. The strange thing is… You can buy the real card for $50... for one on MTGO is $85.... 788
