Forza 5 - What do you Predict? What features would you like?
Forza 5 - What do you Predict? What features would you like?
I'm sure that we will get tons of info about FM5 from E3 but I wanted to open this up. I've seen and heard some great ideas for new feature/content through conversation and reading the forums over at FM.net.
Here are some of my expectations:
I expect that we will see 24 player lobbies. Maybe even larger.
I expect to see night racing and maybe full night/day transitions.
Probably more tracks - we know that there is at least one new track thus far. Prague.
Here are something's I'd like to see in Forza some day, if not in FM5:
Open wheel cars.
Full lineup of cars from actual racing series. ( DTM, WTCC or BTCC)
Player controlled replay cameras.
Wide angle lense for photo mode.
Option to save photo files to memory stick/ thumb drive.
More sponsor logos in the livery editor.
Matte paint finishes.
More tire choices and more realistic or adjustable tire wear.
Working headlights that driver can flash.
Return of endurance events to the single player mode.
More body kits. Options other than Forza Aero.
More wheel styles from the wheel manufacturers.
New car manufacturers - Marussia, Garaiya, Ginetta, etc.
What are some of the things you guys would like or expect to see in FM5?
What do I predict as of this writing? Let's see. Game requires new system, etc. Not in my near future. I still have a ton of games I haven't touched from my boys on the old (current) system.
What I'd like to see is a track editor. Not a GT5 type, but a good one where we could replicate real world tracks from anywhere. I see they are really pushing "The Cloud", so once built you could upload to the cloud where anyone could try it out and rate it.
Umm, I'd like 2000 layers, matt finish with gloss vinyls, window vinyls, the ability to paint ANY wheel (including factory),
and I'd really like the game to up the ingame factory logos (they really cut back on them in Fm4, and for people that don't paint much, these are a real plus, then again 2000 layers, they aren't as important to me...)
1000 player friends list AND in game club,
Production cars banned R3 or higher, IE S and below only, or reinstate U class?
I WANT open wheel 60's Indy/Formula cars! (James Garner cars!!!)
I think night/weather shouldn't be a problem now, although I do think it'll just increase pileups IMO...
In cab customization options, and by this I mean view, not customizable damn helmoets or gloves, I mean, who gives a damn!?
Rant on, I see all these pleas for stuff that's minute in detail, (and I'm a painter I know you're all shaking your heads BUT...) who can see that shit when you're running 270 down the back straight at LeMans? Get real...Rant off...
Oh, and MORE TRACKS!!!
I right there with you Old School but add Rat Rides and Hot Rides. Id like to see REAL AMERICAN MUSCLE Malibu, SS, Mavericks, AMC Spirits, 442... Blowers and belts, Side pipes. rear axel stabilizers, drag style front tires. be able to put two differant rims on, corvett style hoods, customizable hoods, roof scoops. And for crying out loud take out the true lux cars.. The 300m, 62 Impala etc.. oh old school flames and new school Mike LaValley flames
Parcells would like more tracks (especially Spa) but what would be really cool if they set up MP like GT5 does where drivers can practise running while people join the room and/or otherwise wait for the race to commence...an awesome free practise opportunity vs. sitting in the lobby just waiting.
Parcells predicts I wont see either of my wishes come true, FM5 will be not much more than a regurgitated FM4, Turn10 will be scrambling to put out what, in the end, will be an inferior product simply because they are committed to launch with the new console and lots of people will be disappointed.
I don't buy that Mr Bill,
It's following right along in their 2 year timing as all the others have. For all we know, they were already working on it when FM4 released. You're just guessing and projecting...
Of course I'm guessing and projecting what else am I supposed to do? However, FM3 and FM4 were not much more than a regurgitated copy of the previous versions AND more focused on crap Parcells is not interested in so I have no reason to project Turn10 will deliver a game that will WOW me.
A track editor like Brnt said.
An autocross course editor. Set on large empty lots, NOT on tracks. And adjust the gate sensitivity. Or, only count bumps that displace the cone from the box it is in.
Tire wear independent from car damage. And adjustable tire wear for ALL tires. Meaning race tires but with tire wear, and without worrying about getting your race ruined.
The ability to buy your own things from the storefront, AND edit them. (an insurance policy for save screw ups)
LOSE ALL THE STUPID CARS! Pick up some old cool classics. Ford Capri, Porsche 962 I think it was.....The old IMSA/Silhouette racers.
ADD THE BMW CSL BATMOBILE CARS!!!!
Another cool thing would be an "EXTRA" weight reduction level that converts typical cars to race car, similar to the GT2 from the PS1 days.
Also think it would be cool to have fender flares for some cars available in the body modifications area, and once purchased you could run even wider tires.
almost forgot...if they release another race game where you cannot go into the pits and have your aero fixed shame on them!
Autocross editor would rock! I don't see a track editor in general though. I don't see T-10 ceding that much creative control. They'd have to be able to share the track somehow for others to race on it? It would be cool though. ---> How about a "Track of the Month" competition? How cool would that be?
I know of one reasonably selling Castrol Pinto paint I'd recover already if this were done...Put it up on the S/F and them my copy corrupted, and it's gone...but everyone else is buying the damn thing!
BTW, I actually sat down and watched the reveal yesterday ( hey, you can't rush concentration, you know?) and for all the bitching I've seen and fear mongering that the NextBox isn't gaming focused, did everyone see the side by side comparison of the jungle backgrounds in that shooter game, or the quantum leap in the facial rendering of the soldiers? If that can be applied in Forza, oh wow...
Oh and by that I DON'T mean cooler infield grass and faceshields on the helmets...how about lettering on the tires?
People in the stands may happen, not cardboard cut outs ( though again, at 200mph who cares?).
Hell, let's shoot for the moon, pit crews!!!!
Adjustable fuel fills, you know, just a top off for the win!
A tire compound change during a race
And yes, the Holy Grail, driver hand offs in the pits!!!!
Are ya WITH ME????!
One thing that they should do is actually pick cars that people want not the crap like the A-team van. Why the hell would I want to race that piece of shit? Major thing is shit loads of track.
Agreed. Hell I could rattle off a list of 20 cars that the game NEEDS, IMO
It might be cool to add some 80's and 90's Trans Am series cars as R3 or R2 cars.
What would I like to see?
1. A PI system that was more accurate across drivelines, and post upgrades.
2. A better physics model. The current one in FM4 was simplified to allow more calculations for prettier graphics.
3. Some kind of safety rating/licensing system.
4. More tracks (preferably real life tracks) without sacrificing the tracks we already have.
5. The ability to add ballast to front/rear of cars as a handicap rather than power or grip.
Be careful what you wish for:
1. Weather - It is my experience that people have a hard enough time driving on dry pavement in the daylight. Rain, and pooling water would only make this worse. Bad weather would only further separate the faster guys from the slower as smooth inputs would be even more critical under these conditions.
Safety/License? Sony has that and I'm glad we don't. If someone in our group isn't doing as well as he or we would like, work with them. As for the rest of the world, meh...
As for ballast, can we also get left/right movement? How about individual suspension settings PER wheel? How about ALL the Nascar manufacturers? Truck races too?
BTCC Nissan's?
Weather: I hear you and agree whole heartedly. As for transistions, don't care. It would be nice to maybe pick a race and select "night" as an option? But I don't need the whole sun going down thing. I also don't think they'd go so far as to have water pooling, we'd be lucky to get wet pavement.
Oh, and to a point made earlier, YOUR list of stupid cars isn't MY list of stupid cars. I love the Van, I've won races against a field of cars with it! And the whole time I heard the A-Team theme in the background...
For our group it wouldn't matter. I wasn't clear but the rating would be limited to public lobbies. We all love racing with members of 2O4F, but often there isn't anyone online and I race in the publics. Something needs to be done to keep the trash out, and the vote system stinks.
Just the other night I watched a guy running an LB car smash every single person off the track on his way to the front. After initiating a vote to kick him, not a single other person voted. Everyone seems to have an "abstain from voting" mentality now even after being mowed over by some complete jackass. If most of the other racers took 1 contact incident, the guy that came 3rd in that race would have taken at least 8. Drivers like this should never exit F class racing.
Okay, let's not argue. I wouldn't want the thread locked. If you weren't arguing, then disregard.
I agree on a moral point of view Pap, but from a commercial point of view, a game that never lets someone leave F class isn't going to sell as well. Especially if people aren't even going to stand up for themselves and vote an ass out of a lobby.
More often than not, it's three or 4 and they can't be voted out.
No arguement Snappy, just a discussion. Hard to tell with a txt format I know, but if it's an arguement, with me anyway, there wouldn't be the slightest doubt.
I do like the idea of some kind of penalty for bullying on the track, but implementation of such I have no clue.
Sides, if Church locked our thread I'd have to swima long way to kick his arse ( that's euro for butt I think).
They could leave F class anytime they wanted just by hosting a user created lobby. Any UCL's would be free from any restrictions imposed by a safety rating, as the restrictions would be limited to the public circuit hoppers. I think it would make higher class racing in the publics more of a badge of honor. Anywho... just an idea. I'm really not sure what would work, but something else needs to be tried.
Pap, I think you make a good point. Halo MP had "Ranked" lobbies and non ranked MP lobbies. This might be something that could work for FM5. I know it's a totally different type of game but it may well work. Players could be ranked by any number of criteria. Safety, their actual pace, and maybe rage quits.
If weather and day night transition is made optional then people hosting the event could opt not to use it. Just like sim damage and the collision modes are selectable. I agree that inexperienced races could struggle under those conditions but I like the idea of the challenge. I really believe we will see some form of night racing because of how it appeared in Horizon. I believe that was T10 testing the transition and showing us a preview of what is to come. So looking forward to it.
This is what I want in Forza 5 while blasting around at Le Mans:
http://youtu.be/NI6xYxZ_3Rg
Tommy Milner, Corvette ZR1 at the Petit Le Mans (Road Atlanta) 2011, helmet cam:
http://youtu.be/2BUjfdhGj8o
Things I want:
Aero Fix in pits
Fuel usage slider
Tire ware Slider
Most BTCC tracks (Plus others)
All BTCC cars (The standard cars we can buy then tune them up to BTCC spec)
Grid Girls
Optional Rolling starts
Advance damage model (If I'm going to wreck I want it to look cool no?)
Safety Car
Endurance Events
Night racing (For endurance events only though)
Grid Girls
+ A few other people have said 1000 member Clubs, 2000 layer paints ect
Things I DON'T want
Rain (We have Rain on the PC games over at 2Old2Race. If you want something to turn a fun game shit Rain is your answer)
Rally event's
Other than that i'm easy
More REAL tracks, although some of the created tracks are good leave the ones we have (Bring back Positiono long, Bugatti for starters)
Adjustable sport suspensions. limited adjustments to Anti-rolls, soft, medium or hard shocks.
More cars
Bigger Garages
Allow more club members.
More tire sizes. (Some of the drivetrain converted are very limited to tire width)
More choices of aero
Track Editor
Add/Reduce weight for handicapping
Independent tire wear
Rally racing
More point to point races
Individual stats in profile without going to leaderboards
Better sections times notification ( divide the tracks into equal sections with PB notifications) Fast lap section times
Drivetrain conversions for all
engine swaps for all within manufacturer
in lobby tuning
for now that's all.... I reserve the right to modify this list
You can tell I like the game since all my suggestions are just simple stuff.
One other thing I'd like to see is when painting-and you hit transfer right/left, I would like to see logo's be transfered so they are applied as they should be and not backwards.
Another thing is to tame down the leaderboard cars. Meaning there will always be a car/track that is better than other cars/tracks but some of the leaderboard cars are flippin' ridiculous.
I just want my dumbass Fanatec wheel to work with Xbox One!
F__k is that too much to ask?
me to
I think this is that thing us "old folk" rail against, progress...
Heaven forbid they set it up so ALL the damn wheels out there will work on it, seeing as they don't want to make their own anymore!!! I mean, what do you think MIGHT happen if all those wheels out there that work on the PS's suddenly worked on the X-Box too?
I don't even have a wheel and you went and got me all upset!
