MK II: For PlayStation Network

Sony's ramping up their online strategy for the PlayStation 3 - going retro...

It seems, lately, it's hip to be old school, Sony isn't holding back either. Their adding Mortal Kombat II to their online downloadable video games over the PlayStation Network (PSN).

To compete against Xbox Live one must go old school, apparently.

"The Playstation Network Platform was designed to be a clone of Microsoft’s Xbox Live. As a direct competitor, lately they haven’t exactly done the best job at getting away from Live’s shadow, and emerging as something more than Live. Their downloadables are few and far between, and aren’t exactly too popular."

What does Sony have to do to really compete with Microsoft? This game download will be offered for USD $4.99 - cheaper than Ocarina of Time on the Virtual Console which goes for USD $10.00.

We think Sony should become extremely consistent with game title releases, mix new innovative titles with their rehash-retro games and present cheap price for old school games. We can accept a bit of a price for a hot new game but do not want to feel ripped off re-purchasing games, right?
