On Tuesday, March 6, all Xbox Live users will be able to download the well-received 2004 South Park episode “Good Times With Weapons” in high definition.
Although downloadable TV content (or any content, for that matter) isn’t big news for Xbox Live, what makes this particular offering important is the price (free!) and the video quality (HD). That said, what people really want to know is what a high definition version of a South Park episode will look like.
South Park isn’t known for the type of “wow” effect of, say, Pixar movies such as Finding Nemo (South Park is known for quite the opposite, in fact). So, many are wondering whether there is anything to be excited about aside from the fact that it’s a free South Park episode. Luckily, we’ll all find out in just one day.
Non-Xbox Live users can score a free copy by heading over to Best Buy between March 20 and April 3 to pick up a free HD-DVD disc featuring the episode with any purchase of an Xbox 360 console or its HD-DVD add-on player.
