Which should I get?
I am basically without internet right now and about to make a move to about 900 miles away and don't know when I will have it back so I am looking for some input and suggestions for a game.
The games I have in mind are KoA, Dragon's Dogma, and Games of Thrones. Do any of these need a day one update to fix any game breaking glitches and are the any good/fun? I have played KoA and liked it but the other 2 have my attention as well.
Thanks for any info.
KoA is smooth and is a decent action RPG. There is a ton of lore. Most of the quests are "fetch" quests and the other type are "go here and kill". The game has DLC already out. There are a couple bugs in the game but they are annoying and are avoidable... It is a good game.
Dont have the other game so I can't say. I would definatly give a nod to KoA even though I hate EA.
Game of Thrones is a TV series on HBO.
With KOA you have to be connected to the internet the whole time or at least on initial start-up or the game won't run ... (Yes, I know it sucks) ... I hear that Dragons Dogma has some technical control issues, but not sure if you have to be connected or it would make you stop playing, but not being connected I doubt you would need to be worries about an update, but I do see some people on my list playing this game heavly ... Also when you ddo get internet back some of us can play co-op and check out your sidekick for ourselves ...
Oh yea, I forgot about EA forcing people to have online conections for single player games now.
duplicate ...
I thought the online for KoA only required you to verify for DLC (House of Valor, Island of Dead Kel, etc.). I'll check it tonight.
EDIT: KoA plays fine in offline mode for me.
Game of Thrones got pretty fair reviews, i.e. poor to middling, so unless you LOVE that universe, it seems to be a "steer clear" at the moment.
A portion of Dogma is the fun of online pawns, but the game will supply some for you as well, I know. It is $50 at Fry's at the moment, I think.
KoA has a TON of content and will definitely allow you to soak up 100 hours if you go through all the side quests, barring the online stuff.
trying to see what i am doing wrong with KOA
Game of thrones is a terible game. The studio that made it, Cyanide, is well regarded in the industry for quality titles like Pro Cycling Manager and Horse Racing Manager. They really did a great job with their last forray into the fantasy wordls with Chaos League! A hybrid of your clasic American Football with magic using elves and fairies. I am serious, the company that made it makes sports management simulater games.
All sarcasm aside; get the TV series and not the game...
Dragons \dogma is great. Get thast.
Yea I rented Game of Thrones, glad I did barely any time into it and I already don't really like it. Combat seems horrible, hoping Dragon's dogma will be in tonight o rent so I decise if I like KoA or that better. Thanks for all the info.
Good show Jedi. Drop a line to us every now and again once you get yourself situated.
