This car should be able to run top 1000 times fairly easy, my best on the Ring is a 7:48.xxx with a high 7:45 possible for me and a 10:10.250 on the Ring+GP (#900 as of posting). Drive it smooth and fast, let's see what you can do!
I like the settings. I'll give the challenge a go.
Really gotta hustle to break 7:50. 7:49.635 was my best tonight. 7:48.xxx is a rocking time!
I managed 8:12.536 and 10:34.802 (dirty).
Zeratul, I see your 7:48.xxx and raise you couple of seconds. 7:46.138 clean in Rivals mode, 7:45.879 clean in test drive mode.
I knew I was slower using cockpit view but on this track using the hood view gained me so much time.
GRD, I'll re-raise: 7:45.311 clean in rivals (#792)
I'll return your favour with a 7:44.335 clean in Rivals (would be #709). I have a 7:42.116 time in Ferrari GTO in Rivals so it does not show up but I did make a video clip.
Had a great lap then I messed up last 4 corners because I was getting so excited my hands started shaking . . .
Your turn!
I need some pratice behind the wheel, I might give this a try. Besides I'm still feeling out the tuning.
It was hard but here you go: 7:44.222 (#712), I can keep up with your GTO until the main straight then it's bye bye!
The time I've set on the Ring+GP is with a faster build:
Same build as OP but swap engine for the 5.7L V8
Stock air filter
Front tire width +3
Rear tire width +4
Gram Lights 57 Optimise 18"
Final Drive Ratio 3.75
A few pounds heavier, same power, more torque, more grip and higher top speed. Ring+GP time 9:56.084 (#363).
I'm having a lot of fun with this challenge. 7:43.37x.
7:43.186 (#643), there is still some room but we're neering the perfect lap I fear.
That's great, Zeratul! You got that right, we are getting close to (our) perfect lap!
It's going to take me few days this time to respond.
7:42.260. Only 0.1 second shy of my Rivals record. The Supra definitely has the pace.
Caster 2.4? everyone's running 5.5 to max.
I know I changed few small changes but not sure about the caster. I did not deviate too far from the posted tune . . . yet.
I'm surprised that we got this far/fast!
I applied the tune/build and immediately discarded the clutch, think i added fuel maybe instead? Like 6hp. Unless you use manual without clutch or maybe full automatic shifting, the clutch is of no benefit.
I did play with the caster/camber. The car felt slippery to me, too much so for the tire compound. Also seemed too stiff for all the weight reduction.
That said, I'm still not running as fast as you guys, but I think that's me, not the build/tune. I do like the car/build, and I dropped my time from roughly 8:28 to 7:55 though. Solid car.

GRD, I don't think I'll be able to match that time with this build. I did a low 41 on a sloppy lap with the V8 build though but that's not for this challenge.
Oldschool, the low caster is for th initial turn-in response. Lower = faster turn-in, think sport bike vs (raked) chopper. Plus it may just be my driving style, there is no coasting phase in my style. I brake right up to the apex and immidiatley apply throtle.
Look at what happens: Your car has camber, you brake and move weight to the front adding more camber, now you turn in adding yet more camber. For my driving style that often means my outside front tire is not flat on the road but still on it's inner edge with a high caster setting. In (real world) theory high camber combines with low caster and the other way around. Caster adds dynamic camber.
The clutch does have its advantage, with the stock I'll grind the gears (not enough to do damage but it's audible) and with the upgraded not. Driving manual with clutch on the A button.
Edit: Sweet paint Oldschool!
It was a lot of fun running this challenge!
I tend to brake before the turn roll to the apex and then hammer it, so I need a bit of off throttle turn in and then good launch with a bit of on throttle turn on exit.
But again, big improvement for me with this build, and I only tweaked the alignment a bit, other than the injection swap for the clutch. 6 HP helps on the straight. ( Cilletti went down, I'm just sayin') This car performs well on other tracks as well.
I have a D class Chevelle that is absolutely perfectly balanced for my diving style, perfect throttle turn out when you feather it.
The Toyota is the first logos I broke down and made so far. Kills me to start up a catalog ALL OVER AGAIN!!! ( breathe Mike, breathe...)
Know what you mean . . .
Challenge accepted! That 7:55 is going down this weekend OldSchool.
Hmmmm.
Told you.
753.0987749.1527:46.446Actually this challenge is not over. I have not ran the Ring+GP combo target of 9:56.084.
9:56 - 7:42 = 2:14 (roughly) is the target for GP track exit / Nord entry . . .
Looking for excuses to do something . . .
Forgot all about that. I probably still need a clean time, hmmmm...
I think I'll have a stab at this will edit shortly with times but I thought id make a quick table as I know not everyne has everyone as friends and thought it would be good to keep track :)

@Zeratul, Happy to keep updated for you if you want. I can see myself getting a lot of time on the ring here with this one
FYI - Stickied for ya :)
EDIT: 8:03 but think theres still a lot of room for my bad driving to improve lol
I've tried the ring+gp using the original build and I'm easly 4~5 seconds off. I've gotta try the optional build that Zeratul posted.
Snoop, Zeratul improved his Ring+GP time to 9:56.084 (see post #8). That was his last posted time on the forum but I though I saw a faster time on the LB . . .
Have updated, just didnt change it at the time as it was a different build but have changed it now. I cannot seem to get anywhere close going to need to spend some time on here, i find it very grippy, which is good just used to a little slip. I dont seem to be utilising all the gears seems out of puff in 6th going down the main straight, unless i keep it in 5th and screem down there.
will run the others later and see and using leaderboards as ref for now to fill in blanks
Wait! Optional build? I missed that.
Will have to look at this a bit harder...Cilletti I hope you used the optional build...
I am still doing this; just the thought of tackling the Behemoth clean has been stalling my attempt. I do have a race there coming up so I'll be running the track as part of the race preparations.
Meanwhile, the race series I'm participating will be racing B600 '98 Supra at Bathurst coming weekend. My Rivals LB time is 2:19.8xx. Try giving that a go.
So, I have been racing B600 Supra in a series with PTG guys; it has more power but only has tire pressures, brakes, and differential as adjustable parts. All others are either street or sport.
Finally ran 3 laps last night in preparation for the Behemoth race coming up in 2 weeks. The build I have has higher top speed but cornering is clearly worse. Nordschleiffe, however, is a top speed track. Running against Zeratul's ghost, my car is clearly slower in corner but It looked/felt as though it has about 10mph higher top speed.
Best time I have so far is 9:49.x BUT it was dirty. Clean lap is just a matter of running more laps.
