So it's the week before E3 and I was expecting it to be fairly quiet on the new game release front. I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of games on this week's agenda. That pleasant feeling went away fairly quickly when I looked at the calendar of all knowing on the fridge. I don't think we have a weekend off until mid September! No wonder my backlog keeps getting bigger! Oh well, onto games I won't be playing until they come on Xbox Live Game Pass.
Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series - Episode2: Under Pressure
Platforms: Android, iOS, Mac, PC, PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: June 6th, 2017
Besides having the longest name ever and being a blatant cash in on the movie's success, I am still curious about this game. I have a "cool to meh" relationship with Telltale's games. The stories are always well done but the gameplay is boring as all get out. I find them great for riding a stationary bike or walking on a treadmill as you don't have to do much other than hit a couple buttons once in a while. By the way, did you see there was a 7 hour wait in California Adventure for the new GotG ride (aka the old Tower of Terror?) What...the...hell?
Dirt 4
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: June 6th, 2017
I love the Dirt series! It is one of the best and most challenging rally racing games out there. It has inched closer to the X-games style of racing. If the reveal trailer is any indication though it looks like Dirt 4 might bring us back towards pure rally racing. I love this trailer as it features my Focus RS...ok...so it's not mine yet but soon....
Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku!
Platforms: PC, PS4, Vita
Release Date: June 6th, 2017
I know at one point in time 8bit graphics were amazing. I remember those times. Maybe it's my eyes getting old but this new resurgence of that art style is painful to look at!
Dark Rose Valkyrie
Platforms: PS4
Release Date: June 6th, 2017
Released in Japan back in July of 2016, Dark Rose Valkyrie is your typical JRPG. Cute girls? Check! Short Skirts and/or skimpy shirts? Check! Monstrously oversized weapons that are compensation for something the guys playing this are lacking? Check!
Superbeat: Xonic
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: June 6th, 2017 (PS4) | June 7th, 2017 (Xbox One)
Superbeat:Xonic is a rhythm game that was released for the Vita back in 2015. It looks to be making its way onto the current gen of consoles this week. I couldn't take my eyes off the trailer...it was almost hypnotic.
