The folks over at Joystiq studied Ubisoft's financial statements and discovered that SC:Conviction has been pushed back to the 1st quarter of 2008.
The official release date has yet to be announced, but all indications are that Sam Fisher won't be sneaking around your 360 until early next year.

"We weren't terribly surprised that we wouldn't be getting to play Conviction this year, as we assumed Microsoft would have been trumpeting it in its all-2007 lineup at E3 if possible."Although no reason was specified, it's widely assumed that the sheer number of major releases scheduled for Fall 2007 is the main reason. Every publisher wants their game on store shelves in time for the holiday shopping season, but Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV are all but guaranteed to dominate the quarter's sales.
