New Releases: Week of September 27th, 2020

Coffee Memoirs: When you go on vacation, do you bring a laptop or game system with you?  For you, not the kiddos, for sake of this conversation.  For flying… the Nintendo Switch is a fine travel companion.  Your wife may be there too but sometimes the Switch is just more fun to be around.  It strains the eyes and will make you feel like you’re going blind faster than all the porn in the world can.  The laptop is a boss for travel when you aren’t flying in my experience.  Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube for all your hotel room entertainment needs or choose go blind slower mode.  That day where you don’t have anything planned still is a day that needs filling somehow.

Few strategies for those weeklong travel vacations.  Lord knows that you need to keep the weight down on what you are lugging thru the airport and only what you can fit.  If you plan to buy stuff like shirts… don’t pack as many and buy a few.  Dirty clothes are a pain… socks and underwear I am more and more tempted to buy new for when I get back home and just toss what I use while away.  Power cords for your devices are a hassle no matter what it is so limit the total items that require.  Your sonic toothbrush is safer at home.  Your face or head shaver are fine, leave the cords at home and use sparingly and always bring a Powered USB hub just in-case.

In bigger news, Mario turned 35.  He’s like the younger brother who was born with a mustache and somehow still looks better than you.  Luigi… he was not mentioned and is just hoping to stay in Mr. Nintendo’s Will.  Will discuss more below!

Genshin Impact
Release Date:
September 28, 2020
Platforms: PC, PS4, iOS, Droid (and Switch later)

The best things in life are free is a term I sometimes contemplate the truthfulness of.  Maybe you are trying to divert enough funds bit by bit to hide your purchase of the next big game system coming out soon, but you still need a game fix in the meantime?  This game is free but will offer in-game purchases so you may need to keep your wallet on lockdown.  Game looks pretty and has been often compared with Breath of the Wild which may seem sacrilegious to any hardcore fans but it’s a beautiful open world, collect characters, crafting and even multiplayer after you reach a certain level.  The best things in life are free…? Maybe?
