So I had a couple old video cards lying around and decided that nows the time to sell these! I tested them all out but one didn't work...most likely because I was screwing with the bios to try and eek out all the performance gains I could. I have an open air rig in my garage that I use to search up stuff for the cars or my rc's or just playing music. I was trying to bring the card back to life in that one as it is easy access. Well long story short, card still seems bricked but it looks like I bricked that rig too....fuck.
Well I have to pull it down off the shelf and see if I can bring it back to life but it got me to thinking. Yeah I screwed myself over but even so, this is the reason I will ALWAYS be a PC guy over a mac. I can probably get a $50 mobo for this thing worst case and bring it back to life. With a Mac..well it would be $3000 as you would need a whole new computer. I can hear you say you would never be able to brick a Mac. Maybe you're right (came close on a Mac Mini once though) but the fact that I can swap in and out nearly every single component so it becomes MINE is what I love. There is not just one type of alcohol in this world or one type of vehicle. Why should we be told what PC we need? It's about choice for me and Apple is not about choice. Remember their 1984 commercial? That is Apple right now! Maybe I am being over dramatic, maybe I have listened to Rage Against the Machine too much this week (not possible) but from my gaming chair, Apple tells you what they need you to want and I will never be in that camp.
Speaking of which how is that gaming performance on those new M1 chips?
Resident Evil Village
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, XBX/S
Release Date: May 7th, 2021
I am kinda digging the VIII in the image above alluding to the fact RE Village is also RE 8. I am going to admit something here...I have never played an RE game. Too near plausible and scary for me. If I am going for horror its gotta be out there...aliens like in Dead Space or to an extent Prey. Resident Evil games though...nope...I like to stay in my own little bubble thanks. After watching the trailer, RE Village looks like its a little more fantasy than evil corporation so maybe one day I will gather up my wits and give it a shot...maybe.
Skate City
Platforms: PS, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, XBX/S
Release Date: May 6th, 2021
So while Skate City was already release on iOS back in 2019, I am giving this one an exemption from my rules as its going to be a new game on these platforms. I love skateboarding, I was never good at doing any tricks but back in the day between my board and my bike I could go anywhere (pre-drivers license that is) and it was awesome. If you loved the Tony Hawk games you may want to give Skate City a try.
