Major Nelson is warning everyone that Xbox Live will be down for maintenance on April 21, 2am PST for a whole eight hours.
Of course, there’s a very obvious reason behind this: Grand Theft Auto IV. All that luscious multiplayer with what is expected to be 7M copies sold on the Xbox 360 in the few week or two will probably put a serious strain on the Microsoft servers, so they’re probably adding an extra server… or three.
Larry helpfully posted the fixed clock URL to indicate when the downage will be in your time zone. Hm, it’ll be down at 12 noon in Minsk.
