I would like to apologize to anyone and everyone that finds my sig offensive, I had no idea everyone still believes that it stands for racism. The person who created my sig did so because we wanted to go along with the perception everyone has of the south. That we are nothing but a bunch of red neck assholes, who celebrate the rebel flag. Its a cliche of what Hollywood portrays of us with the likes of the "The Dukes Of Hazzard" and "Deliverance".But I see now that it is just something that cant be changed no matter what.I am not a racisit, never will be.I see life like I think everyone should, we live on one earth, we breathe the same air, and we all bleed the same. The color of a persons skin doesnt bother me at all, its whats in thier character that bothers me.If you sit there and tell me just because Im from Oklahoma I have to be a uneducated inbreed son of a bitch.Well then I tend to take that a little personal, I dont know much about where you live or who you are but I cannot sit there and judge a person like that.So fucking what if I speak with a drawl, or butcher the english language with saying yall instead of saying you all.Thats just the way thing are so get over it, I know I wont lose any sleep thinking just because of the fact I dont see things the way some people do, or talk the way they expect me to.I am a human being just trying to get by on what I know, so go ahead and remove me from your friends list or ban my account because of this rant Im on.My life is what I make of it, not what you see in a symbol that I use to draw attention to myself. In fact if would appease everyone I can just do like I did when I first joined this site last year and stay on the outside looking in.Never make a post, never leave my little world of Jasonville POP of just me.I will pull my sig down so I dont offend anyone else and make one final post for everyone on my blog and in the main forum so everyone will know I have done what they wanted me to do.I will stick to my forum board on 2old2play South and post when I can.I found the sig funny and thought by now everyone that knew me would to.But I guess not I understand now that someone who lives in a small town will always be a person from a small town.I once again apoloize to everyone who found it offensive and will not post anything else here or anywhere else in the main forum due to the fact everyone wants to judge me by sig, and my idea that the south is redeemable if you would give us a chance and leave us out of the butt of your jokes.

Edit by plumber:

Look at no way should this post be an attack on the community or any one person, this is a volatile subject that has been comeing for a long time.I just wish my temper would have stayed in check when writeing this.I know after reading this it seems that way, but its not.I will take some time off from 2o2p to cool off.

wow, people thought that was racist. I think in light of what has happened on the site, a lot of people are now uber sensitive to what they read and see. They only sad part is that some dont take the time to know the person.

I didnt see anything in the public forums regarding the sig, and just saw the banner on your blog, so I dont know what all was said, but I know how much you enjoy posting in the main forum, so I hope you change your mind over time.

I knew it was a take off of the "General Lee" immediately. But being from Tennessee and living in Georgia I have been around the heart of the "Stars And Bars" controversey for a long time. I used to like the flag just because I thought it was cool. But after talking to several of my friends that are African American I decided to never fly it again. It is just not worth it to me to hurt someone elses feelings just so I can fly something I think is cool. That flag has since become a symbol of white racist in the South and even in the North. I do not think you are a racist and I know you thought you were being humorous (us southerners dont really count you as being from the south being across the Mississippii River and all) but you have not been close to the controversey as most Southerners have. I prefer not to be associated with the flag just because I do not want to offend people when I believe it is not necessary. I also do not want to be associated with those Arayan clowns. So bravo for taking your sig down. It is just not worth it. I am sure your next one will probable have a hillbilly with a jug of moonshine on his hip 8O . Then it will be my turn to take offense (absolutely, just kidding, I think that would actually be pretty good). So keep the blog going. I am sure its all good. Yall come back now, ya hear?

Ya know, after living in Memphis for 2 years even though I know wat it originally stood for, people my age mainly see it as the Dukes of Hazzard. "Justem good ole boys, aint meanin no harm" ;) Mike

Keep the sig. Whether people like it or not. IT is part of American history! How someone interprets its use is largely based on the context in which it was used. Your sig was a parady of the General Lee, and in no way racist.
