A bit o History

I am the UnwashedMass, avatar of all that is unclean in the world of online gaming.

I kid, I picked my name because I was pissed at all the gamertags I wanted were taken by the unwashed masses.  Pretty self explanatory, it was a shot at all the XBL nerds who took my preferences and would probably never use them.  I figure BigDaddyRed probably hasnt been on since he first got MechAssault with his XBL kit and I had to choose another.  Same with all the other derivations that I tried to come up with.  Jerks.

To give you some intel on the wierdness that is me, the mohawk picture is from this last Super Bowl.  I got sick of fighting with my receding hairline and thought I would have  a bit of fun before I shaved my braincase completely.  The pics in the blog title are the progression from lean hard 22-year-old Marine, to semi-drunk 27-year-old at a luau, to the 30-year-old serial killer-looking shot.  I have a tendency to grab other peoples cameras and take pictures of myself.  My buddy has suffered with my craziness for years has kept many of these pictures.  He had a girlfriend who found these photos and decided to make a montage of the slide into old age and senility.  Thanks Heifer.  (That is our nickname for the chick since she tore out my homeys heart and set it on fire, this peed on it to put it out. Dont worry, he is now married with a beautiful little boy.  And his beautiful wife has MASSIVE hoobage.  Bonus!)

My career (Grand Poobah is a front) is in Metrology.  Meteorology?  Nope.  Im not a weather man.  I am a technician in the science of weights and measures.  If it can measure I ensure it measures correctly.  Anything from torque wrenches to microwave/RF communcations test sets.  I know a little bit about a lot of stuff and I am always willing to learn more.  That is why my company sends me all over- I am kind of the resident fireman/plumber.  I put out fires and clean up other peoples crap.  I handle the wierd jobs; the ugly jobs and the stuff nobody is willing to learn.  Gives me job security but I also have to go to places like Modesto CA and Delta Utah.  If youre from Delta I apologize, but if the nearest WalMart to you is 100 miles away, youre screwed.  I get to make a MidWest roadtrip next week for the Boss and hopefully see some of the guys in my clan.  That will be fun.  Especially if I take Tanks advice and get me a mobile 360 kit going. Suhweet.  I learned my trade in the USMC and went into civilian life with a mere change of clothes.  I have done the same thing for 15 years and Im kinda bored.  Thinking about becoming a landscaper or a circus acrobat.  Something completely unrelated.  Just for the change.

I got in from my Modesto trip (Modesto is Spanish middle of frickin nowhere, IIRC. ) a day early, so Im groovin.  Whether or not  I get some 360 time in is a different story but at least I can sleep in my own clean bed.

I wanted to thank everyone on the site who has made me welcome.  Ive never known so many cool people in one place.  Goodolplumber for inviting me into the clan 2O2P South and all the guys there.  TwistedCaboose (Phreaks) and her gang for getting us into the intermediate H2 ladder and promptly spanking our butts.  Doodi and crew who keeps this little sanity saver of a website running and gunning.  All of the rest of the peeps who made Halo 2 and XBL fun for me again.
