So me and the family tried out geocaching today. It was pretty cool but unfortunately both locations had the cache missing and no log book to be signed.

But it got me out of the house for a while and actually got a tiny bit of exercise...WTF!!!

I have an android phone and there is an app from geocaching.com for 10 bucks. So if you do have a droid phone or a iCrap I know there are apps for both of them. Now since this is my first time I do not know if they work well everywhere, but I know I had no problem using it today.

Lbsutke.... The apps can help you most of the time, but they are not as sensitive as a true handheld GPSr. I have 702 finds all with a Garmin eTrex Venture HC . It is not an expensive GPSr. I wish my BB was one that Verizon would unlock. Have fun. I learned about Geocaching from H2Daddy.

My dad and sister are into geocaching. Do you need a really good handheld gps to do it?

Nice! I did the same thing with the kids today. They love it and so does the dog. He usually gets to swim. I'm using my Droid phone and an app called c:geo. Its such a great app.

Don't listen to rich boy Lala. If you are going to do it, get a handheld gps. Love me some geocaching.

me and the family did it for a little bit a couple of years ago,.. we should get back into it,. we did it with the cheapest GPS wal-mart had at the time.. I think we put like 90$ towards it. good times. Sometimes its fun to visit one you've already logged and see how many have hit it since your last trip.

I was out with the family today doing the same thing. Unfortunately, to the same result. 0-3, with two of them suspected tampering as I'm pretty sure we found the locations. But on the plus side, hid our own cache for the first time today, and just waiting for it to be reviewed and activated.
