A picture called Now and Then

Had to share this pic that I Photoshopped call Now and Then. These are the pics I used to create my avatar. (This was also posted in the 2old2pwn forum).

Yes, I'm home.

I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers and glad that Pat was able to update you all.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen! I am indeed alive and living in Elk Grove. I got home late yesterday took a shower and then a nap! Stayed up for all of 2 hours and then went to bed. Not a real exciting day, but still a good one.

After Surgery

Hello, this is Pat, Doorgunner's wife.  His surgery today was a total success.  The Dr. was able to remove the tumor using the telescopic tools, so there is no incision in his chest.  He may be home tomorrow, but we won't know until morning.  Don't know when he will be back online playing again, but I know he will do a blog post as soon as comes home.  Thanks for all of your positive comments and thoughts -- we both really appreciate them!

Yet another update.

As I wrote a while back concerning my thyroid cancer (this will be operation number 5 since 1995):

"Saw the surgeon today and he is optimistic. Doesn't know the full extent of what will be needed until he operates. Could be arthroscopically or with a larger incision (but still only about 6-8") and could even mean removing the lobe of the lung. It is right by the major arteries and veins between the heart and lungs. Can't even tell if the tumor is in the lung or just outside."

Astronomy Aid

As some of you know, astronomy is one of my hobbies and I have blogged about it in the past. Now, a friend of mine wrote a book for astronomical observing. I wanted to share it with you because I think it is great, not because he's my friend. Called "Objects in the Heavens", it is a complete Northern Deep-sky (and lunar) viewing list and fieldbook. It has some new twists on locating and identifying items in the sky.
