A New Record - 2 days/2 blogs

Well here I am. 66 years old and old enough to know better. BUT, after 41 years of marriage, my wife has finally relented and is willing to let me get a motorcycle! I'm looking at possibly getting a Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 Low. I don't know that I need or could safely manage a 1200, but who knows. I only know that sometime in the next month or two (or three), I will be getting a motorcycle!!!!

Something good!

Something good about meeting up with folks in person like I was able to do on Saturday for a couple of hours at the 2o2p Lan. Got to talk with a bunch of folks and watched a bunch more playing their little hearts out. Talked with MikeJames, Doodi and TrashGuy, got to meet USCM1 and watched Phreak and Beldan (and others) playiing some great Halo 3 FFA in a tourney match. Of course I managed to spend some time with Pearly and Tdrag too. Also got to meet J-cat and talk about the non-gaming world and a little about Canada. All in all, a very enjoyable couple of hours.

And Life Goes On (and on and on ...)

OK, so it's been a long time since I updated my info. Most folks have enough on their plates without putting up with the whining of an old fart and I kept putting this off in hopes of some actual resolution to some of my issues, but that, apparently, is not to be.

Life Can Be a Chore Revisited

Well, the only reason I'm harping on this subject again is because last night I had let some of you know during the Over 50 Halo festivities that I was going to see the doctor today to work out a next step with my cancer. So we get to the office half an hour early since my wife figured I would need to fill out a bunch of paperwork and she was right. Worked on it for a while and the receptionist informs us that the doc will be about 1/2 hour late.

Thanks but ...

I wanted to thank all those who have expressed their concern and prayers for me recently. I truly appreciate them all.

There were two people in particular whose comments I wanted to address. I hope they won't be embarassed or hurt in any way about what I'm about to write.

doodirock says: DG, you sir are a fantastic human being. Even through all this your writing shows an up beat side and general understanding of what matters in life. I only hope I have half the courage that you do when Im 66. Keep hanging in there.

doodirock says: again, you are my hero.

Life Can Be a Chore (Still)

The good news is that my daughter is doing OK, though not talking to us (until I left a message about the following, today).

Now, the tests indicating that there might be more cancer have been verified. Although.the CT scan I had did not find it, the full body scan with radioactive iodine has found not one, but two nodules in my left lung. Now more tests, consultations, etc. to determine what to do about this.
