This has promise. Keep us posted.
Regarding PvP. Apparently the model that is in place has been inspired by Dark ages of Camelot. I have never played that but Lord of the rings online borrowed heavily from DAoC and was a great experience I had many fond memories of, while alone or jumping into pug raids. So Suffice it to say I am now very excited for ESo's PvP or AvAvA (alliance vs alliance). Heres a great article detailing the similarities that are expected.

So far, this is looking like it is going to be easy on the system specs.
One thing to note is massive PvP battles are very system intensive.
A nice interview with a good amount of in game footage. Tamriel is a beautiful place.

It does look amazing, and I will more than likely try it out. and I can' t speak for everyone obviously, but me personally, one of the things that continues to draw me back to WoW is that it's different than real life, meaning, the world looks different. And what I mean by that is that with a few exceptions these worlds look like our world - same grass, same trees... I played through Rift all the way to level 50 and I can only think of one area that didn't feel like something I could experience in real life. Their mobs are the exception obviously, but even their bosses were normal sized often times, I'm a normal sized man (well I played a dwarf) fighting another normal sized man and he's the boss of this heroic dungeon. guild Wars 2 had it's moments, but even in it I started out in a grassy area and went to a snowy area. areas that are similar to what we have here. The blood elf starting area, heck even the undead starting area, it just felt like I was somewhere I'd never been before if that makes sense. I see that commonality between all non-wow games. It's funny because I played Rappelz first which was fairly realistic looking, then I almost didn't play WoW because it was too "cartoony". Now I've found I prefer that. Based on the fact WoW is still the leader despite the fact losing a lot of subscribers leads me to believe others do too... So I see things I do like in this game and I probably will try it, but we'll see what happens. It's also the reason I play Halo, there are things that are the same but there are things that are different. Makes me very curious to see what happens with Destiny...
That being your greatest concern I would suggest playing a Dunmer (dark elf) or and Argonian (lizard) if you do end up picking the game up. They are both members of the Ebonheart Pact and allies. The other member is the nords of Skyrim whose landscape is ordinary. But the Dunmer in Morrowind have a strange and surreal landscape to call home. Volcanoes, with lava rivers, giant mushroom trees, animals that float through the air because they are sacks of gas. A strange land indeed. Then the argonians, a lizard race live in a magical swamp with dark comers and dangerous secrets. Death is around every corner, whether it be from animal, plant of fungus. beware friends.
Also alien may be playing a Khajiit in the land of Elsewyr. The inscrutable cat people are always up to mischief and are very passionate in their beliefs, albeit how contrary they may seem. Elsewyr like the people is contrary in its landscape. In the south off the ocean and the Torpal Bay is a lush tropical jungle. A place of beauty and danger unparalleled. Great cities are present built on the backs of moon sugar farmers. A narcotic plant grown exclusively by the Khajiit here. Northern Elsewyr is a dessert and the Khajiit here are nomadic and viewed as somewhat barbaric. The Khajiit are of the Aldmeri Dominion.
The other members of this alliance are the Bosmer (wood elves) and Altmer (high Elves). Though their starting areas may be somewhat more mundane then what you would like, don't let first impressions fool you. In valenwood where the Bosmer lay claim to the trees, Cities in trees are constantly changing locations as the giant trees can walk.
The Altmer great and ancient Elves of superior intellect, build great spires of glass in which to live and make their homes on the sommeset isles. Men have never before seen these and who knows what wonders await when we do.
Last is the Daggerfall covenant consisting of 2 human races and orcs. this is probably the most mundane of all, so I would steer clear of them. but Who knows the orcs area may be really cool. have to wait and learn more.
Yes, steer clear of the Daggerfall Covenant. There is nothing there. Maybe some desert, the best merchants, the finest smiths and the most talented warriors... Nothing to see really though.
Bethesda has doomed this game already with a $14.99 monthly subscription & in game microtransactions....http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-15918-The-Elder-Scrolls-Online-Will-Feature-Microtransactions.html
It confuses me as well. Wont be stripping down and donning poster board doom signs just yet though as everything I keep hearing about actual gameplay is very positive. WoW has a sub fee and microtransaction and so have other games. I doubt ZOS will do something to stupid with the microtransacts.
Its the lack of a "Global" auction house that has me concerned in any real way. I know why it can't be achieved (because of the mega server). Its just nice is all. B4 anyone gets excited it states no "Global" auction house. They will have something from the sounds of it. But details are just not given as of yet.
