rF2 Megan Endurance Race

A few of us at GBR are signed up for a series of Endurance culminating in a 24 hour at Le Mans, so this is a bit of training for me. It's all about consistency and protecting your car and tires and less about hot lapping so plays to my strengths, not being the fastest driver...

Of course yesterday pretty much sucked. I still can't believe I ran that RSR long enough to blowout the LF tire.....while leading..gif "129")
I had been incident free up until then...and was even causing Hawks to re-evaluate his battle plan.
Long way to go to catch up with Church, he has never finished a PC race
He needs a divorce and redundancy cause we keep scheduling races when he is either working or being Mr family man. Otherwise he would be there with knobs on.
Yeah that sucked big time, I toyed with staying on the same set but decided I am not an F1 and cannot drive on knackered tires
What's scary.....my lap times hadn't really fallen off at all. It was getting a little slippery, but I wasn't seeing a large decrease in lap times so I didn't even bother looking at the tire wear meter, and was trying to make it to halfway and pull off a one stop.
Then....
End of Andretti turn into the RH sweeper. Everything normal.
Apply power midway through the corner. Starts fine...then get some wheelspin from the RR. "Wierd.....did I get on the curb?"
Accelerate out of the RH down the short chute, brake & turn into the LH. Everything feels normal.
Accelerate out of the corner and move to the other side of the track to setup for the final RH onto the front straight and quick stab the brakes to set the nose. Everything feels normal.
Turn into final RH............nothing.
Straight through the final corner, across the grass into the outside armco heavily damaging the LF. "Shit! WTF just happened."
Limp across the track down Pit Road entry and down pits...cycling through LCD menus to setup pit stop.
Get to the damage screen. LF wheel still on.....but no rubber left on the rim. "Oh. That sucks."
Set on pit road for almost 2 minutes waiting for tires, fuel and damage repairs. "There goes that race."
Racing in day = bad for me :(
Anytime after 7:00pm Im easy.
I have that much time on my hands after 7:00 pm that I have just completed a 3hr flight from Luton Airport to Holland on FS2004 at night and with very heavy fog (Good job I know how to use the ILS system in a 747-400)
I am now sorting out my flight pan to hop to Moscow.
Need to calculate my fuel and passanger weight from the manifest.

Keep an eye on GBR Sunday events...there is talk we may be moving the start times 2 hours later to 10:30AM PST, so timing may get a bit closer for you...at least for Enduracers (ALMS/LMS).
