Support Series

Hey guys iam looking for a support series to run on the off weeks of the WTCC series, I personally would like to run something completly opposite of the wtcc.....here are my favorite mods

Aussie V8.....hard as hell but simply awesome!!!

https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0ByQRckRcCX7Rbi1YaG5IVk9NR3c/edit

DTM...with official 2012 calender....very fast and handle great

https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0ByQRckRcCX7RQ2szc2ptOFAyU1U/edit

Clio Cup.....FWD slower great physics and will run on stcc tracks

https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0ByQRckRcCX7Rb1BkSDd0OHprNTA/edit

Ferrari F355 Challenge

https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0ByQRckRcCX7RVVFBc3NELWY0c1k/edit

Hmm, not a V8 fan, love the Clios so they would get my vote.

Not gonna lie.....I love the V8 mod but at this point i dont quit think iam skilled enough to run them in a race lol  I think it would be best and start small and work our way up as a group since we all baasically started at the same time.  Maybe start a a fri night mod test for future events?  We all pick a mod run it together and compile the ones the majority likes?

I ran thee clio's on some stcc tracks and they were really fun easy to handle no tuning required except brake pressure and steering lock!  just as intense as the wtcc's the stcc tracks are smaller and more technical so makes for some good close races.

Now i just checked the Clio cup Uk website and they actually run the exact same tracks in order as the our wtcc line up....seems they a support series for the btcc tour

we could run the same tracks or the stcc tracks granted people have stcc 2?

My vote would be F355/DTM on the scheduled WTCC circuits.

But admittedly I'm a bit of a sadist when it comes to my sim mods.  If I can't kill myself if I get it wrong, I tend to not get into them as much.....as hot lapping a car that is extremely difficult to get out of shape once I get dropped and am running by myself gets old really fast.  Never could get into hotlapping.

My vote for the WTCC circuits is purely selfish.....I'm already racing in too many other series', I'm already averaging 7 races a week (not including EUSL on FM4) and typically all but maybe one or 2 are at new locations.

Regardless of what you run, I'll try to make them if I'm available that day.  Saturday is the day I do tend to visit friends down in Seattle, though I only head down there a couple times a month.

I like the idea of jump in and drive series for the moment. I have so many tough to drive things on at the moment it would be good to have a day where I just need to refresh my mind on the track and then drive a car that doesn't demand hours of practice to hang on the back of the pack. On saying that I will turn out for whatever we run...but my vote is short track racing in the Clios.

Oh yeah WTCC tracks for the same reason as Sherb

I agree with keeping the tracks the same regardless of the mod, and i would also like to just jump in and drive smiley  I tried driving in a bunch of different series at race2play and it just got to much trying to learn multiple tracks and tuning in a short time, really hampered my performance so i just dropped down to 2 events.

Yeah, I've got 3 over there I'm focusing on.  GT3 @  VLN Nordschliefe (Saturdays), V8 Supercars (Saturdays) & Fabcar/NAGT (Fridays).  I'm also occasionally running Spirit of '76 on Fridays if I've got the time, but that one is just a fun drop in for me.  Fortunately I'm already running the V8s & NAGT @ GBR, so setup isn't a huge deal...it's just getting the tracks figured out.  Fortunately I typically only need about half hour to get up to 85% of my speed.

Will go with any mod for the support races but if we go with the clios can we race the same tracks as the wttc league.  Think this is what Sherb is suggesting.  Saves on learning a new track each week.

I tried the f355 mod on these tracks and to honest it just didn't feel right on them...on a magority of them I barely got to 4th gear and found it difficult trying to tame the amount of power coming out the corners....these car like the v8 and dtm deserve full gp tracks to fully enjoy them :) Since the majority has spoken and want to keep the same tracks I think the clio would fit best, no tuning easy to handle run the same tracks Is everyone ok with this ? basically its a hassle free mod to run and good for all of us and will induce some good close racing :)

Heh the box doesn't even get turned on from one Wednesday to the next, what with running Vintage F3 and Formula 2 in rF2 at SR4L, Porsches, Enduro and TC in Rf1 at GBR and now STCC in Race07 here, and with starting up a GBR team at SR4L ready for the Endurence series there, the race Calender is getting overloaded with practice and races. I guess it was bound to happen, being unable to race in Forza I dived into the world of PC racing to fill the hole...So much more going on there because there are so many more Sims with more groups racing them...Which reminds me can you throw over a car for me to drive in Brit car, dont care what, you know my taste well enough. Just don't have the time to test.

Will do Knight.

I have a very nice motor in mind for you.

If I had the set-up I would more than likely be racing as much on the PC.

Issue is I realistically only have a pad and it really is hard to race with one on the PC.

Yeah man I get that, rF2 in particular would be wasted on a pad but with a wheel, driving nirvana. Not sure if it's even worth sending that car after tonight...

Excuses :) I had an idea for the clio series while I was sitting on the throne! I figure there will be about 6+ participants on average hopefully....I noticed there are tons of teams and skins available for this mod....so to make every battle important no matter your position we pair a faster guy with an intermediate and add a team championship? Will do a hotlap and pair fastest with slowest and use the same points standings as the the drivers championship ?

I like it.

I'll likely be the slow guy, as I really only spend enough time to learn the tracks, as I prefer the feel of rF1 & the mods I run there.  But I'll give it hell anyways.  cheeky

Don't anyone listen to that pile of poop, he aways complains about lack of practice yet somehow on the day he is up the front battling for a podium! 120

I don't know about this one...I've been about a second off what you were running in the Honda.  I was 2+ seconds back off you in the BMW.  Maybe I'll find a groove mid-race...I don't know.  I'm just hoping to be able to beat the AI.

And you haven't seen me during the mid-week races.  I'm competitive in NAGT, but the others (V8SC, Mustang Challenge, Miatas) I'm a mid packer at best.

It's just a feel thing mate, might take you a few laps or a couple of races but your soon be on song. This track is also one that suits me for some reason and I got to admit I have high hopes of doing well...
