I've been thinking about how I use 2o2p and this is what I would like: I visit many forums on the site, the group forums I'm in and a few more, on a regular basis, but I have to navigate through the site each and every time to get there. It's not that hard but it could be easier. What if we could have a small customizable pallet (if that's the word) with lets say up to 5-10 buttons. Each button represent a forum on this site, this would be my choices, and when I click on the buttons, it instantly takes me to that forum?!? That would be awesome!!!! =D Only gripe could be you get lazy and ONLY visit those forums once you've customized your pallet, but I don't think so. Just a thought...
It may not be exactly as you put up here, but I do have a plan in mind for general forum navigation. The one issue I take with fast links is that it creates a huge void of discovering new posts, forums, or content you normally don't see. It is the same reason why the forums (at least the forum lists) are not full screen until you get to the post. At least this way you can see our latest homepage conversation and hopefully more interesting stuff about 2o2p in the future. I know that generally speaking once a member decides to close themselves in on 2o2p there is little more we can do to push them out, but every once and a while it would be nice to at least give them the oppertunity.
I think the idea that I have for the forum navigation is a good one, however I'm not ready to share it as of yet since I'm not totally sure when I'll have time to do it. I will be MUCH faster to get to where you want to go, while still having the chance to see new posts. Hopefully everyone likes it.
