I find it odd they wouldn't upgrade your shipping to one day to make this happen. Have you chatted Amazon support since finding out the reasoning (or was that coming from Amazon support)?
They had my Day One console being here next Tuesday and they provided me a free one-day shipping upgrade to get it here tomorrow.

I'll be listening to everyone's first impressions and such, I don't see me getting one until close to the end of year. That's assuming no one runs out or they replenish by then. So remember, it could be worse.

Waiting for either console might be the winning move since both are launching in beta state as far as i'm concerned. Missing features, shit not working, back end networking issues at least for sony, we'll see within 24h if LIVE falls on its face too.
And honestly the launch lineup of games is shit for both consoles. I don't even know why i'm buying one other than I don't want to have to deal with finding one when a good game comes out I want to play on it. That'll be March it seems like and supply could still be an issue.

I can't remeber there ever being a good launch line-up. Like Shadow informed me "we buy them day one for the tech and to be able to play with it". I bought an extended warranty so I plan on running the PS4 like a dog. I had issues logging into the PSN on launch day and since then haven't had any. I could've waited but it's the first new console I've gotten at launch since the PS2.
I have to agree with you Tank. They are not launching based on a complete product - they are launching to stop each other from gaining a market advantage. I bet you will see mostly 360 users going to One - and PS3 users going to PS4.

Microsoft has apparently pulled the offline update download page i linked to earlier. IGN is running this story about it, i already downloaded both but now i'm not sure if i should use them or not lol.
A Microsoft representative provided the following explanation to IGN:
“The site was not an alternative way to take the Day One update and customers still need to connect to Xbox Live for the update. Because of the complexity of this customer support process we’ve actually removed the page and we will work with customers directly to make sure they have a smooth experience.”
Instead, Microsoft explained, the site was intended as “a support tool to help a customer whose console is not connecting to Live” so they can still use the update. Microsoft tells us that there are currently no plans to put the page back up.

What is the significance of the motherboard picture? I don't know what is highlighted. I bet if you position your Xbone properly, that fan could cool off both systems.
The colored boxes are highlighting different components of the motherboard like the CPU/GPU, Ram and what not. If you go the ifixit website where thsoe images come from, they tell you what everything is along with model #s in case you want to look up specs.
I missed the day one preorder so mine will not be in until mid-December. I did get my XBONE Battlefield 4 disk in the mail today though. It was in a padded envelope labelled COD Ghosts -- laughed my ass off.
Yea, that definitely stinks. Considering Amazon's might and whoever owns your credit card, there should be a way to receive immediate/actionable notifications when something like that happens. Makes no sense why they couldn't do something along those lines.
I guess the good news is that things (systems, networks, and on and on) all don't work perfectly right at launch, so there might not be a whole lot you'll be able to do even if you had it this weekend.
I agree with the comments about both rushing to market to get share, but based on my experiences with the 360 and the PS3 I have full faith in both companies to deliver what they're promising, it will just take a little while to get it all there. Next-gen on XBL with TV integration...it's gonna be sweet!
