Nintendo Says "360 Not Doing Well In Europe"

Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America president, says the Xbox 360 is selling poorly in Europe while Wii is beating it badly...

In an interview with the San Jose Mercury News, it's clear Reggie wants to spell out the winner of the European Wii vs. 360 battle. He underscores the fact that "360 is selling well only in one country: UK."

Bottom line, the 360 has a bit of trouble in some countries for whatever reason. Perhaps Microsoft doesn't focus enough advertising attacks in many European countries? Or maybe some countries do not care for the more popular western-style genre's the Xbox 360 caters to?

A few hot games are on the censor block in Germany because of excessive violence (by censor we mean "unrated" thus not easily sold or advertised). Is this typical for European countries or are there other barriers to entry that have not been spelled out.

Blue Dragon The end result is simply, Microsoft hasn't announced any sales figures for Europe and Nintendo is just drawing a line in the sand. Microsoft did say their on target for the 12 million worldwide sales figure for the end of June 2007.

The only question is, how much of those worldwide sales are non-North American? Japan had a bit of a boost with Blue Dragon but they must continue the trend to stay popular in that country.

Any Europeans want to share their experiences with the Xbox 360 exposure?
