Even more whiskey greatness

Well over the weekend I finally opened up a bottle of Thomas H Handy. This is from the Buffalo Trace Antique collection. It is a rye whiskey and if you have ever had the pleasure of trying Sazerac rye you will be overjoyed with this offering. The Sazerac comes in a 18 year and a 6 year the Handy is the six year just uncut and unfiltered at cask strength.  It is a little hot at 130 proof but it is a baby once you let it open up a bit.

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Well I was out running a few errands today and was getting kinda thirsty. I pull in to this little liquor store for a coke. While grabbing said frosty beverage I spy a couple of dusty bottles of George Stagg Bourbon sitting on the shelf. I could not believe me eyes there was the probably one of the finest bourbons made just collecting dust. Needless to say I purchased both bottles at a reasonable price of 49.99 each. I have seen this as high as 150 a bottle. This bourbon is 140 proof and tastes wonderful straight with no ice or water.

Search for the Perfect Flask

Well for a while now I have been searching for the perfect flask. Why wouldn't I just get a stainless steel one from my local BevMo you ask. Well I have a stainless steel one and have never been happy with it. I tried a pewter one and well they are nice I just don't like the feel of it and it has an off smell to it even after many a cleaning. Glass is nice and I have more then a few antique glass and silver flasks but to damn fragile. So far the one I am most happy with is my sterling silver 3oz from England. The craftsmanship is excellent and it just feels right.
